Your papá Oscar was given a miracle when he was five years old. He was very sick and his mamá and papá had tried all they could to fix him. Your village was very poor and isolated so they would have to go very far to get help. The town had heard of a very young healer in a faraway sanctuary that could heal ailments with a meal. Many thought it was probably just a myth but your Abuela and Abuelo thought it was worth a shot for their only child.

They prepared as well as they could but after a day of travelling your papá seemed like he wouldn't make it any further. They had stopped to set up camp and lay with him in their arms. His breathing was shallow and laboured and the time between breaths became longer and longer. When it seemed like he was done for and tears were streaming down from your Abuela's cheeks as she held him he suddenly started to glow. He took a deep breath and opened his eyes. He started floating out of your Abuela's arms and shone so brightly it was as if it were day.

However, he then floated down to rest on the ground in front of your Abuela and his eyes closed again and his laboured breathing continued. Your Abuela stayed kneeling, stunned, but your Abuelo reached forward to cradle his son. As he touched him he cried out in pain. A single grey hair appeared on the young fathers otherwise youthful head as he recoiled. Oscar then fluttered his eyes open.

"Papá?... Mamá?" Oscar said weakly. It was the first time they had heard Oscar speak in weeks. Overjoyed they threw their arms around him, but as they did they both felt the pain again. A few of the hairs on their heads became grey and both cried out again. The young Oscar was now looking slightly better but he began to cry at his parents' distress as they jumped away from him again.

Amongst the commotion, the tired parents hadn't noticed the eyes behind their child until it was too late. Suddenly a jaguar leapt at Oscar. The animal's powerful jaw bit down on the child's weak torso. Your Abuelo horrified, was about to throw himself at the animal when it started a strange whimper. Oscar then grabbed the Jaguars neck with inexplicable strength as it released him from its jaws. It began a timid snarl and tried to jump away but Oscar kept an unnaturally firm grip on the skin around the animal's neck and kept his balance as it retreated.

Your Abuela and Abuelo stood shocked as the Jaguar tried to wrestle out of the five old's grip. They couldn't believe it as they saw his bite wounds heal before their eyes. The jaguar's torso was shrinking ever so slightly as big cats' often do as they age. As the jaguar slowly dragged Oscar further away the child finally let go of the animal and it sprinted away as fast as it could. Oscar turned back towards his parents. The light in his eyes was bright and it was impossible to tell he had ever been sick. The skin under his ripped clothes was fresh and strong and he stood with strength impossible for a five-year-old. A smile lit up his face.

"Did you see me, did you see what I did?!" He yelled with childish glee. "I just fought a tiger!" He giggled looking back towards where the jaguar had runoff. His parents were too shocked to correct him, they just stood there dumbfounded before breaking into tears.

"Oscar, my boy, you're so strong and well again! No one will believe what you just did, this is amazing!" Your Abuelo annouced proudly.

"Oh my beautiful beautiful boy, come to mamá!" Your Abuela cooed. But as Oscar ran and threw his arms around his mother she yelped in pain again.

"Mamá?" Oscar said quietly as he withdrew his hug. Your Abuela placed her finger in Oscar's hand and winced in pain as she touched him. She then touched his chest where the clothes were not torn and signed with relief.

"Wait here, Oscar." She said as she went over to one of their travel bags. She pulled out one of your Abuelo's ponchos and placed it carefully over Oscar's head. It was far to big for him and your Abuela bundled him up in it, not allowing his hands to escape. She then pulled him in close to her, being careful to avoid any skin to skin contact.  The grateful and exhausted parents then hugged their healthy child.

"You're our miracle." They said together.
