"What happened? What's going on?" Camilo asks, dazed. He tries to move and realises his hands are bound. His brow furrows and he looks up at you. You don't know what to say yet. His eyes move to your bound hands, at least removing your guilt to some extent from his perspective. He wriggles again then his big brown eyes dart from side to side expectantly. They then narrow.

"My... my gift..." His eyes widen.

"The miracle!" He exclaims frantically. He jumps up. "Let me get your hands." You oblige and turn so he can untie your hands which he does suprisingly skillfully from behind his back. You turn to untie him. "We have to get to the candle!" But then he stops for a moment and shakes his head in confusion.

"Did you see who tied us up?" He asks. You stare at him, still unable to explain.
"This doesn't make any sense who would want to get rid of the miracle?" He looks at you again. "Y/N are you ok?"

A lump has formed in your throat and tears prick your eyes. You don't want to cry, it's not fair to him, he deserves the truth without any reason to pity you. He reaches out and wipes a tear from your eye. He's too sweet, too precious, and the tears start flowing before you can stop them.

"Hey it's ok... You're ok." He says pulling you into a hug. He cradles your head and squeezes you. You try to blubber out something, anything.

"No .. it's... not." You get out through gasps. He pulls you tighter.

"Our family has revived the miracle before. We have to warn the others about whoever this is but we'll be alright. Are you hurt?" He asks gently. You shake your head, you're not significantly hurt at this point. Then you mumble "it's my papá."

He pulls away to look at you. "What was that?" He asks soothingly. Nothing feels real. Your mind is trying to escape your body.

"It's my papá." You say, more clearly this time but barley above a whisper. You look us into his eyes as he blinks at you.

"What ... do you mean?" He asks. You take a deep shakey breath and stare at the floor.

"He... He can steal your ... Essence ... Which includes your gifts... That's his gift... And my mamà, she's gone, and he ... Wants to find her.. and ... He thought, more gifts would help... But, I should have stopped him.. and I'm sorry..." You get out through sniffs before you can't think straight anymore. Nothing sounded like you thought it would. You hate yourself for letting this happen.

"I..." He starts. You look up at him, pleading silently for a forgiveness you don't deserve. He gently grabs your wrists. "Well you must have tried..." He kisses your forehead and pulls you close. It's comforting and after some big gulps you get some strength to continue.

"I... I tried, but he had taken my gift, then yours, and transformed into you, so I got confused... " You're getting more coherent now.

He crinkles his nose, furrows his brow and smiles. "Your gift?" He asks, intrigued. You feel guilty again for never telling him.

"Invisibility. I was trying to hide it as part of my papá's plan. I'm sorry." There's a wobble in your voice again. He pulls you tight again. You look up at him and he stares into the distance, processing.

"So what is he doing now?" He asks.

"He was going to steal more gifts." You reply. There's an anger in Camilo's eye that doesn't suit him.

"I can't let him do this." He says with determination. He grabs you by the shoulders to look in your eye. "C'mon let's get out of here." You nod.

He tries the door but it's jammed. He starts ramming it with his shoulder and you come over to help.

"Ok, 3, 2, 1" you both ram it and it opens. You're lucky your papá wasn't being too careful. He takes your hand and breaks into a run.
