THE adrenaline kicked in as my combatted style feet stomped on the pavement as I chased down the acquired target. I was back in action, this time alone after getting another bounty hunting job from Malory.
Sam Wyatt was my target this round. He was tall, skinny and had dirty long blonde hair. By the looks of it, he was definitely a drug user, which explained what the motives was for his crimes, which was robbery and attempted murder. So, it was clear that this was all drug ridden.
I tracked the man to a gas station where he tried to beg for some change in order to get some cigarettes. When I approached him, he immediately knew I was there to bring him in, thus causing this cat and mouse chase.
Colored in all black, I was dressed in a plain shirt, a leather jacket over it, some skinny jeans, my combat boots and my hair down naturally. But, as it began to softly rain down on us, my hair started to get wet, causing it to slowly curl up as it did that when it was wet, and would go back to the straightened look once it dried. I know, my hair was weird.
"Stop!" I shouted after him as he took a sharp turn, nearly almost slipping. I huffed as I turned the corner to follow him, eventually seeing that he was heading towards a small forest area, which would only complicate things further. Not only would it make the chase harder due to the rain, but I'll have a stronger chance to lose him in the process.
So, of course, knowing how my luck was, that's exactly what happened. Though I was still on him like a hawk, he managed to slow me down by jumping over a large tree bark that was on the ground, which I was too late to notice, causing me to trip over it, and land in the wet grass.
"Fuck!" I groaned out, but didn't waste any more time getting up. But, it didn't matter anyways because when I did, I felt more disappointed in myself when I didn't see Sam anywhere. In fact, the only thing I heard was my heavy breathing, and the rain that still fell from the skies.
"Shit!" I exclaimed, realizing I had lost him. I sighed as I pulled my phone from out of my pocket as it began to go off, and I only groaned in more annoyance as it was Archer calling me. "What?" I questioned after answering, and putting the phone onto my ear. "I'm busy right now."
"Did you hear the news?" Archer asked.
"What?" I breathed out as I began to walk, looking around to see if I could spot Sam hiding or something. "What are you talking about?"
"Mother made a rule that before Friday there's no more sex in the office." I blinked. "So, do you know what that means?"
"You'll stop harassing every woman there?" I questioned, causing him to scoff. "Because that is great news." I added as I looked behind trees, in some bushes, but I still couldn't locate Sam anywhere.
"No, idiot." Archer retorted. "It means that this is the chance you and I could finally have sex in your office!" I sighed heavily. "So, where are you? I'll meet you in there." I rolled my eyes with a scoff.
"I am not having sex with you, Archer." I retorted. "I wasn't going to even if Malory didn't make that rule, which, by the way, why did she decide to that all of a sudden, and why is it before Friday?"
"Pam made the before Friday thing." Archer admitted. "Which, don't be surprised if she tries to get you to have sex with her because she wants to have sex with someone here." I rolled my eyes. "But, I will tell you that if you agree to have sex with her before agreeing to have sex with me, I will literally kill myself, I just want you to know that." I sighed.
"I'm not having sex with anyone there, Archer." I argued. "Especially not with you."
"So, you're keeping the option open for everyone else?" I huffed.
