CHAPTER THIRTEEN - REAL STEEL

𝓣𝚁𝙴𝙽𝚃

I WALKED INTO NATE'S LAB wearing a black flannel. I saw that he was with Steel, working on the Cheetah Claws. "Nate, I hate to trouble you. But I have this really odd question to ask you." I told him, causing him and Steel to stop talking and look at me.

"What is it?" Nate questioned.

I pulled out my Power Star, holding it in my hand. "I've been thinking of some way I can use both of my Ranger forms in battle. Obviously, there's no more Ninja Steel in the galaxy, so it's not like you can make a Power Star for me like Mick would. Got any ideas?" I asked.

Nate took the Power Star from my hand. "I'll see what I can do." He answered.

"You'll figure it out. You're smart enough to find a way." I complimented, giving Nate a pat on the shoulder as Devon soon walked in, carrying a basketball.

"Yo, Steel, wassup?" Devon asked as Zoey went to go talk to Nate.

"Yeah, basketball's totally human. I can teach you how to play." Devon was saying.

"Really? Can you teach me to drool?" Steel questioned.

Devon chuckled. "I think you mean dribble, but no problem. You'll be tearing up the court in no time." He replied.

"Devon's gonna teach me how to play basketball." Steel announced.

"Can you spare him?" Devon asked.

"Well, yeah, I guess. Sure." Nate responded.

"Great!" Devon said. "So, in order to move, you gotta dribble the ball. Your opponent—"

"Why don't you go play with them?" Zoey questioned.

"No, thanks. I, um... I have a lot to do here." Nate told her, obviously hurt by the exchange Steel and Devon had.

Some time later, Devon, Steel, Ravi, Zoey, and I returned back into Nate's lab. "I told you that head butting is against the rules in basketball, Steel." Devon was saying.

"Then they need to change the rules." Steel said, removing the now deflated basketball from his head. "I just need to tape up the hole then I can use Nate's air compressor to fill 'er up."

"Hey, team. Who wants pizza?" Ben asked, opening a pizza box as him and Betty walked in.

"Oh. Don't mind if I do." Devon responded.

"Mmm. My smell receptors tell me I'd love that pizza." Steel said. "Can I have a little slice?"

"Have you forgotten robots can't eat?" Betty reminded him.

"Aw." Steel said sadly.

"Steel! The ball!" Devon shouted.
