JUNIPER LOOKED ALL over the castle for Draco to eventually find him in the sixth-floor boys' bathroom. Don't question how she got in there.

She saw him leaning over the sink, his head bent. He didn't seem to notice her. Slowly, she moved closer to him.

"Draco?"

He jumped up at the sound of her voice and twirled around, eyes wide.

June halted in her steps and took a closer look at him. He didn't seem to he doing well. "Are you all right?"

Draco turned around again, turning his back on her. "I'm fine."

It was an obvious lie, but June could sense this wasn't the time to question him. Slowly, she moved closer to him and reached out to place a hand on his shoulder. He shrugged it off.

"What are you doing here?" Draco questioned, not meeting her eyes. "This is the guy's bathroom. As far as I know, you're not a guy." It came out harsher than June had expected.

"Draco, you know you can tell me anything, right?" June said carefully. "I'm here for you, no matter what."

"I told you, I'm fine!" Draco growled, pushing her roughly aside before storming out of the bathroom.

June sighed, rubbing her arm as she watched the empty doorway. He was definitely not all right.

Draco was still the main thing on Juniper's mind when she entered the empty classroom for her first dueling lesson with Severus.

As she waited for him, she removed her jacket. Though it was getting colder in the castle since Christmas was approaching, June knew Severus' dueling skills would make her sweat. She knew he was one of the best and didn't need him dueling Lockhart back in her fourth year to prove that to her.

"Good, you're here," Severus said, striding into the classroom. He flicked his wand and the door behind him closed. He turned to look at her but his eyes stayed on her arm.

"What happened?"

June looked down, following his gaze, and saw that a bruise was starting to form on the spot where Draco had shoved her against the wall.

"Oh, that," June said, as she desperately tried to find a good lie.

Severus' face darkened. "Did that Weasley do this to you?" His voice was dangerously low. Even June, who knew him better than most people, felt a shiver running up her spine.
