Gayles heard her phone resonate in her sleep. She grasped her phone from beside her and answered the phone. "Hello", she said.

"Hello fox", the caller said back.

"Stellie, why are you calling at this time. Any problem?" she gaped.

"Not at all, I just called to check on you", Stellie told her. "l am on my way home, I dropped off Rennie".

"At this time, why did you not stay the night?" she asked agitated.

"She asked me to but l refused", Stellie pronounced.

"You know you should not have stayed out that long", Gayles censured.

"I am not a kid", Stellie bragged.

Gayles urged, "even so, there should be care".

"Where are you now?" Stellie enquired.

"Home of course, where else?" Gayles said dubiously.

Stellie admitted, "I thought you were still with him".

Gayles sighed. "With who?" she asked.

"Blessed be the Lord! I am home now. Girl l think you should go back to sleep", Stellie proposed. Gayles said nothing in response. "You will tell me all that happened tomorrow, don't forget", she reminded.

"Goodnight!" Gayles greeted.

She dropped the phone on her bed and reached out for the jug to pour out some water but there was not a drop in it. She proceeded into the living room, the place was dark when she got there. She went over thoroughly to find the switch, after a long search in the sombre, she discovered it.

She put the lights on. Gayles went to fill the jug and left to her room, she poured a glass and quenched her thirst. As soon as she quenched her thirst, she laid down and slept off.

Gayles was fast asleep when the sun was rising from it's horizon, she could feel the fresh air enter the room from the curtains since she forgot to close her windows. She arouse by the reflection of the sun rays on her eyes.

"Aww! it's another day", she said after she had said her morning prayers and had finished with her devotion. "l need a wash down", she said and left to the bathroom.

With some minutes, she returned.

"l have missed Vin's calls. What is up with him this morning?", she said as she tried calling back. The call went through and he answered it. "Good morning", she greeted.

"Good morning. How are you doing?" he asked.

"l am fine by grace", she answered.

"Are you ready for school?" he asked again.

"Almost", she told him.

"WelI... l called to make sure you do not over sleep", Vin said.

She skeptically asked, "What did you just say?"

"What did you hear me say?" he asked rhetorically, "perhaps l did not utter a word, your ears are itching".

She exclaimed, "You are incredible. You know what? I will be late l have to get dressed".

"Did l forfend you?"

She blarted, "Vin!"

He innocently asked, "what did l do this time?"
