That morning, Jisung was listening to his friend's words, but he wasn't really listening. I mean, he was looking at Seungmin's lips moving and nodding his head every now and then, but he wasn't paying attention. He was only thinking about how excited he had been that morning to see me at school, only to have his hopes dashed the moment he picked up his phone.
Y/n
I'm not going to school today. He could almost feel my cold tone through the phone.
Jisung
You're not coming? Why not, are you okay?Y/n
Yeah, I'm fine. I didn't sleep well last night, so I don't feel like going to school today. Sorry.Jisung
No need to feel sorry. I'll text you later to make sure you're feeling better, okay? :)Y/n
Okay."...What do you think he's like?" Seungmin's sudden question snapped Jisung back to reality, realizing he hadn't caught a single word his friend had said.
"Huh? What?" he asked, confused.
"The new guy. What do you think he's like?"
"There's a new guy?" Jisung asked blinking a few times at the news.
Seungmin crossed his arms. "Where were you the past five minutes while I was telling you just that?"
"I'm sorry, I'm a little out of it today. So there's a new student? Which class?" Jisung asked with an apologetic look.
The tall boy rolled his eyes, sighing at Jisung's inattention. "Biology, and maybe a few others. And yes, he just moved."
"Why now though? School started three months ago."
"He must have his reasons. Anyway, shall we go? Our first class is biology, we could introduce ourselves to the new guy."
"I'm in! Let's go," Jisung said, smiling, as they headed to the classroom together.
Jisung and Seungmin were the only ones in the group who shared the biology class, while I had a different class with Felix, so that day it was just the two of them. They walked into the classroom to find several students already inside, all familiar faces, except for one.
Sitting near the window, there was a tall boy who Jisung didn't recognize. He had long blonde hair which reached his lower neck, black eyes, a mole under one of it. He was really good-looking, and while studying his face, Jisung had the feeling he had already seen that boy before.
"It's him, isn't it?" Jisung asked Seungmin, pointing to the boy.
"Yep, I think so."
Jisung tilted his head, noticing how the new boy seemed uncomfortable and lonely at his desk.
"You sure he's new? I feel like I've seen him before."
"What? No, you must be mistaken. I told you he just moved here."
Jisung nodded. "Let's talk to him then!" he said, walking over to their new classmate with a big smile on his face.
The boy didn't even notice the two of them approaching, lost in thought as he looked out the window with his earphones on. He snapped out of his trance the moment Jisung slammed his hand on the desk, making him flinch and look up.
When Jisung's eyes met his, that familiar feeling returned. But he brushed it off, smiling warmly at the new classmate.
"Hi! Are you the new guy?" Jisung asked politely.
The boy, clearly shy and reserved, managed a small smile.
"Oh... yes, that's me," he replied softly.
"It's nice to meet you! My name's Jisung, and this is Seungmin. We both share this biology class, so if you need anything, just ask us!"
