2 years later

I can't believe I finally did it! I'm a fucking home owner. It's gorgeous, and it's mine!! I scrapped and saved everything from the book sales, and got my keys cut today. It's a small two bedroom one and a half bathrooms, but it is all mine. I bet Alana would be so proud of me. I decided that I was going to paint the walls first at least my bedroom first. I decided to go out to Home Depot to see what kind of colors would suit me best.

As I was getting out of my car to head in, I saw him. Ryan. Still has handsome as ever and working hard lifting big things of flower pots from one side of a display to the other. I had no idea that he started to work here. After that last time, I could tell he never wanted to see me again, so I figured it would be best to try, and not disturb him. Only problem is, he was right at the entrance. Fuck.

I walked up to the where the entrance was with my head down to try and avoid eye contact. Just for him to have to pick up another pot at that very moment to look at the ground then startled as he looked back up at me.

"Sarah?"

"Uh, hi...sorry."I tried to walk past him, but he stopped me as he put the pot down.

"Wait, wait, wait, don't run." He looked conflicted and out of sorts with himself.

"I uh...thought you would want me to." I know I probably looked very sheepish to say the least.

"Wow... Sarah Jones...you look good, when were..."He cleared his throat. "Um when were you released?"

"Um about two years ago. I became a writer for column and released my first book about a 9 months ago."

"Wow...I...wow, uh whats the name of the book?"

"With All My Love. It's a book about....Alana."

"Oh..oh that's great...do you...never mind."

"No, what?"

"Do you want to have dinner sometime?"

"Really?" He actually wants to talk to me?

"Yea...I wanna catch up, sound good?"

"Sure. How's Friday?"

"Friday works. But now I gotta look like I'm still working so uh...anything I can help you with ma'am?" He gave a slight smirk.

I laughed still charming as ever. "I am actually here to find some paint. I just got my new house and I wanna paint the bedroom. "

"Let me guess, purple right?"

"Yea...guess somethings just never change. I don't know what shade though, do I want a dark shade of purple and get matching lighter bedding, or light purple on the walls but dark purple bedding."

"Well I mainly manage the landscaping here, but there's a guy name Charlie in there who helps with paints."

"Okay thanks that sounds great." I start to walk away, but he stops me, and writes down his number on a business card.

"See you Friday."

After talking to Charlie I decided on a Plum purple, and I would get lilac purple bedding to match. When I went home that evening I set up everything to paint. I slept in my living room for the time being until the painting would be done.  I sat there that evening thinking about Ryan. I hope his wife would be okay with this, but then I remembered when I looked down at his hand I didn't see a ring. Maybe he doesn't wanna get it dirty. That's common.

A lot has resurfaced in my mind since my psychotic break. I remember getting married to Ryan. I remembered the day I gave birth to Alana. I remembered looking down at my wedding ring. But I still don't remember is the divorce between us. Before I left Barbara and WillowBrooke, I asked her if she could tell me how my divorce went.
