A week was all it took for everything to change. Chan had completely shut them out, only appearing when needed to deliver school reports. Otherwise, he would disappear. No one knew how to find him. He made sure that his presence was by choice and it drove the team crazy especially Felix who felt guilty.
He knew he was the cause of their leader's problems. Minho had hinted that Chan was scolded and the team had been banned from all social events. All special privileges had been reduced to zero and their group were one mistake from being disbanded.
Han had somehow managed to convince his father to keep them together but Felix knew they were hanging on a thread. Too thin to hold their weight. And he couldn't do anything about it.
Immediately Felix woke up from the forty-eight hours' comatose state he had been in, Headmaster Jin-Young rained questions on him. They drilled him to recall what had happened that night but he feigned memory loss. He may hold certain resentments towards Hyunjin, but he still cared about him and couldn't bring himself to reveal the truth.
To be fair, Hyunjin wasn't the one that hurt him. It was his companion. But that information would only aggravate the situation in ten folds. So he tucked it deeper into an unknown compartment in his mind.
He got to Chan's room and paused wondering if he should be polite or badge in. After a moment's thought, he opted to badge in so the latter wouldn't have the opportunity to shut him out if he was in the room. However, he was met with something unexpected.
Changbin glared at him for intruding and he quickly apologized before closing the door. The girl on his thighs was half-naked but Felix didn't care to think too much about Hyung's dating life. This only affirmed why Chan wouldn't stay in the room and that made his heartache a little more.
Felix held the small bag containing brownies he had made the night before closer to his chest. Sleep had eluded him as always and he wandered into the kitchen to make them, the one thing that gave him a semblance of home when all the loneliness shoves itself past his wall till they were finally in his face. Choking the happiness out of him. His mother's voice would resonate in his mind.
"Find a way to do what makes you happy even if that doesn't involve me. Someday, you will have to face the world alone and I hope you won't look to others to help you stand up every time. Smile and brush it off."
He grinned at the memory and proceeded towards the music room for free period. Hopefully, the gift would put a smile on their leader's face. In reality, all he wanted to do was hug him tightly for as long as possible that is if he didn't excuse himself and claim to be engrossed in making music.
"Hyung, you made brownies?" Jeongin appeared by his side.
Felix opened his mouth to reply when he suddenly felt himself being dragged and the next thing he saw was the endless rows of lockers in the men's locker room. The space was empty except for four boys, one who was currently pinning him against the locker, another, with replicating the act with poor Jeongin.
One disappeared towards the door after being told to report back if they had guests. And then, there was one whose eyes were cold as ice. Felix struggled with his captive and attempted to shove him off but that only made him tighten his grip.
Felix recognized them as juniors but their grip was powerful. It was only a matter of time before he would lose consciousness. Jeongin's face was red and barely holding on. "Let-t him go!" He managed to tell the one who stood there smirking.
"Not now love. You see, I've been waiting to catch you two for a minute but you always elude me." He waved his hand and both Jeongin and Felix were dropped like a hot pot.
