I eagerly got in my car, something told me that I need to see Murdoc. It was cold and pouring rain, I didn't bring a jacket or an umbrella since I was in such a hurry. Maybe I should've thought this through more clearly, but I didn't like how I left off with Murdoc, it made me feel guilty. I parked close to the doors and walked inside.
"I need to talk to Murdoc Niccals." The officers looked at each other and back at me. "Ma'am visiting hours are over you'll have to come back tomorrow." I started to fake sob and leaned on the officer's chest. "Please sir if only you knew how long it's been since I've seen him, it hurts me every day that I can't see him. I'm just asking for one act of kindness, only this once." I looked up at him teary-eyed, my hands still on his chest. He sighed then let me into the cells. "Sucker" I murmured under my breath and wiped the fake tears from my eyes.
"Quite a show there." A deep voice crept up from behind me. "There you are." I leaned my arm against his cell. There was a short awkward silence. "Thanks- For getting Ace and all." I began to smoke a cigarette. Murdoc held his hand out for a drag, "No problem, love." He looked at me and took a long drag. "I missed you a lot, I'm sorry I haven't kept in touch much," I told him. We had grown apart because I was scared to try anything with him. I still wasn't sure that I wanted to try it. "That means a lot. You are everything to me y/n. You've stuck around longer than anybody has, thank you." He put the cigarette out on the steel bar. "You should go home, I'll be out in no time." He smiled and sat down on his bed.
I walked out into the rain and looked up at the stars. I thought about what Murdoc said, that I meant everything to him. A weight had been lifted off my chest, knowing that he didn't hold a grudge. It made me happy knowing that we were going to be okay.
"Hey," a voice came from beside me. Ace had followed me to the prison, "So, you went to see Murdoc." he had a hint of jealousy in his tone. I looked up at him, his hair was soaked from the rain. "Doll, I'm going to admit it, I like you...A lot. I know that it's been a while, but you've always made me happy, and when I see you falling for another guy in front of me-" I quickly put my hands on his face and leaned in to kiss him. I couldn't stand seeing him so sad, he looked so beautiful in the rain with the moonlight shining on him. It was at that moment I realized how much I cared for him and how good he made me feel. He placed his hands on my waist and held me close. Once our lips parted he looked into my eyes, still holding me close. "Why aren't you wearing a jacket? You're going to get a cold." He took off his leather jacket and put it over me. It smelled like the vanilla scent he usually had.
"Well c'mon get on." he pointed to the back of his motorcycle and smiled. I blushed and kissed his cheek before I jumped on and drove home. Ace and I both got home soaking from the rain, which left a bunch of puddles on the floor. I walked up to the kitchen counter to see that Noodle had left a few towels with a little note. I grabbed one of the towels and started to dry Ace's hair, we both laughed and entertained each other. "You look super cute." he complimented. I blushed and covered my face deep in my hands.
We both changed and came back downstairs to sit on the couch. Seeing Ace made me feel fuzzy. He put his arm around me and held me tight as we watched tv on a low volume. Before we knew it, we both fell asleep in each other's arms.
