Kyra's POV

I flew a few laps around the ship. The ninja of death? Me? I couldn't do it. I, who had lost, or so I thought, so much to death, now had to embody it? I couldn't do it. I had to march right up to that sensei and tell him that I wasn't going to be a part of this.

But what if my powers had something to do with bringing back dead people? I could bring back Dr Julien, and dare I think it, Za- No. Sorry, got off track. I had to do this. Even if it turned out that wasn't my destiny, I still had to try.

Somebody tugged my consciousness. Zane, probably urged by the others to find out were I was. I pushed him out. This was my time, and I wasn't letting anyone intrude. I flew a few more laps before perching on an open porthole and silently shifting once I was inside.

I wandered to the dining hall and climbed to the main deck. The ninja were still standing there, gazing over the edge. When he heard me open the door, Lloyd turned around and broke into a smile. "Kyra! That was awesome!" He shouted. I smiled. He seemed nice enough. The others turned around too, all wearing grins similar to Lloyds. Even Zane!

They walked over, except Sensei, and clustered around me, babbling. Kai piped up. "So, are you going to tell us your probably seriously awesome element now?" I shook my head. "Sorry guys. Not today. But whoever guesses correctly gets an invisible cookie!" Everyone laughed, except Zane. He probably had his humor switch turned off. Go figure.

Zane's POV

Kyra looked a bit overwhelmed. I probably would have been too. Finding a long-lost brother, finding out you're a Spinjitzu ninja, and getting a new home and family in one day would be overwhelming for just about anyone.

But why wasn't Kyra telling us her element? Was she embarrassed or something like that? She had just been given access to nearly unlimited power! Kyra was part of a team now. She needed to act like it. The more I thought about it, the more infuriated I became.

Thankfully, Sensei took that moment to say, "Kyra, I've incorporated you into the meal schedule. You'll be making dinner tonight. Zane, could you help her?" I nodded. I'd be able to talk to my sister-and hopefully find out what her element was.

We walked to the kitchen in virtual silence. Once there, Kyra turned towards me, took a breath, and began speaking at a rapid pace. "I'm sorry, but I'm not going to tell you my element. And I know I'm not acting like a team player, but I just can't tell you what it is. Don't ask Sensei either because he took a solemn oath that he wouldn't tell anyone. You'll know what it is once you see me use it. But until then, I'm not telling a soul. Also, how does chicken Parmesan sound?"

I shrugged. I hadn't expected her to tell me, but it still stung. I was her brother, for crying out loud. If she wouldn't tell me, she'd tell someone else. The truth would come out eventually, and getting a sneak peek definitely wasn't worth it.

I turned to my sister and gave her a hug.

"Welcome home, Kyra."
