The Walsh boy

Jacob Rick Walsh was a normal kid his dad was a one of the best cops in the world the other was his Uncle Rick. Well not perfect Aunt Lori didn't make good pancakes and he didn't do well in school like his best friend Carl but that was his only worry. In another life it would stay like this in that life his dad would raise him. In that life Jacob would have grown up and may have been a cop of kings county like his hero any other job. But not this one because the dead stopped being dead.

Rick and Shane sat in their police car. Rick let Shane rant "Do you know what she said next brother?" Not even pausing long enough for rick to respond "she actually said it's me or the brat, can you believe that snd she had the audacity to look surprised when I said Jacob it didn't take me a second I couldn't believe that she would think I would choose sex over my kid." Shane took a breath pausing for a second "So I kicked her out she was worst than Jacob about leaving on the light switch. Women, man they're just " Shane let out an exasperated sigh with finishing his sentence he began speaking again " even Lady I bought her some expensive dog food she won't even eat it but she will eat mud and rocks but the stuff that is 5 dollars a can nope not good enough for her" Lady was the Walsh's dog that thing followed Jacob everywhere and he wanted to bring the dog everywhere the boy and the dog were a package deal. "How are you Carl and Lori?" Shane asked changing the subject. " We had a rough night" Rick paused " speak brother I may of been ranting but I spoke"
"she wants me to do ,speak but every time I do I just seems to tick her off this morning she said 'I don't know if you even care about us' she said that in front of Carl imagine having to go to school with that in your head." He paused looking out the window " difference between men and women I would never say anything that cruel to her certainly not in front of Carl." Rick sighed. There was silence as they absorbed everything laid out. But only for a moment then the radio went off.

" I thought you had to stay after today." Carl asked his friend as they walked out off the school " me too but something happened maybe Mrs. Smith got sick I heard something happen I think she fell" Jacob was   happy not to stay have after although he really like Mrs. Smith she was kind but straight forward and didn't call him stupid. She said he wasn't dumb even though the saw the letters move on the page and he flip his b, d, g, p, and q. She said his brain just worked differently. " I don't understand why you even have to stay after" Carl let out a breath he didn't like how he couldn't spend as much time with his friend. " I didn't do good enough on the test and if I don't get good at reading and writing and stuff I have to do summer school or I could even be held back." Jacob looked down ashamed "You can't do that how are we supposed to do best friend stuff I we don't see each other all summer or are in different grades or school were best friends" Carl was getting fired up " I don't know Car but we'll still be besties even if I have to do summer school or I have to repeat a grade again right?" Jacob sounded scared he didn't want to lose Carl he didn't want to lose his best friend he would certainly lose all his other friends if he was held back he couldn't lose Carl though he just couldn't. Carl stopped, for one terrible moment he thought Carl would say he didn't want to be friends with someone so stupid. "Of course we'll be best friends no matter what be and you were a team I'll always have you and you'll always have me we will be friends forever Jay no matter what." Carl wrapped his friend in a hug " we will make it work ok but you don't have to worry about that you have been studying really hard I'm sure you'll pass!" Jacob smiled.
" wait why is dad and your mom here" Jacob asked " I don't know why Shane is here mom said she would pick me up she'll probably pick you up too" Carl responded " it looks like they are talking Aunt Lori looks sad"  the two boys walk up to the adults Shane knelt down and wrapped his boy in a hug. Lori bent down and sigh she hugged her son the looked him in the eye "mommy is something wrong?" Lori look at her son with tears in her eyes Carl something happened to your farther at work today."

About a week later.
Jacob sat to the right of Lady and Carl sat to the left of her. " do you think it's serious?" Carl asked looking at his friend " your dad?, yeah but he'll pull though don't cha remember when my dad got shot last year he got better yours will to Car." Jacob said he threw the ball a Lady ran after it. "That too but I'm taking about the sickness on the news" Carl looked worried "oh that nawl that ain't nothing to worry over." Jacob was relaxed then paused Lady came back with the ball and he threw it again " I hear Mrs. Smith isn't getting better she was the only teacher that was kind to me. I asked the doctor if I could see her after we saw your dad but he said he couldn't tell me anything. He wouldn't even say if she was a patient there or not, but I know she is there I don't understand why I can't visit her" Jacob looked miserable " I don't know if anything is going to get better Jacob. My dad, Mrs smith or the sickness I'm scared Jacob I don't know what is happening." Now it was Carl who looked miserable.

" I don't know either Carl but we got each other forever no matter what. And it's not like the world is going to end even though it feels like it" Lady ran up knocking both boys over " and we got Lady" Carl joked "yeah we got each other and Lady" Jacob smiled back at his friend as Lady licked his face.

So what do you think this is my first fic. To clarify some things
Jacob and Carl will have a friendship and brother relationship not a romantic one.
Lady is a medium dog that is the kind of mutt that it is impossible to put her to a breed I'm looking for a picture that fits what I have in mind.
Any romance will be in the background cus I this is a story of friendship
Jacob is going to see Shane differently than the others because he is his dad so he is always going to love him.
Shane is a great dad to Jacob.

Carl will live
Sophia may live
Enid may live if she exists because I want stuff for both Sophia and Enid to do.
There will not be a fight over Carl between those girls or any others
I may do comic Carol
Some comic characters will probably appear but Shane will have the show death because I prefer that .
