Chapter Twelve

The next week was awful. Steve didn't talk to me nor acknowledge me one bit. Johnny did too. He actually checked on me each night to make sure I wasn't drinking. Which I sorta still did secretly...

But to get him to talk to me I had to tell him about Jensen. So one night when he was in the kitchen making some kind of sandwich, I crept in there and leaned up against the counter. "Are you still mad at me?" I asked and he dropped what he was doing and looked at me.

"I'm not that mad. Just....just really disappointed." He said with a sigh. "I'm sorry about what I said but if you were in my place would you have reacted the same way?" He asked.

I opened my mouth to protest but sighed in defeat.
"Yeah...I would. Just...I wouldn't have yelled as much." I say putting my hands on my hips. That reply managed to get a chuckle out of him as he carried on with making his sandwich.

"But you cannot and I mean cannot ever do anything like that again. Fury was already thinking about locking you up in a cell..." he said and looked like he had something else to say. "But I...told him I couldn't let him do that." He said glancing up at me.

"I saw Jensen." I say suddenly. He stops completely and looks at me waiting to continue.

"He said...that...it would be in my best interest to contact him. I...took some information off that harddrive because....I didn't think he could be trusted with it... And if I don't get him the rest of that information...he said it wouldn't be pretty...." Steve just blinked at me.

"You took info off of the hard drive!?" He asked.

"Yeah I mean...it was for the best...and I don't know where he's at but...we have to stop him sooner or later..." I say.

"We will...don't worry. We're all working on finding him...Now," he said taking a bite of his sandwich.

"Do you wanna continue training?" He asks frowning at his sandwich and pushed it away.

I smile slightly. "Uh...sure..."

"I'm not gonna take it easy on ya though." He says throwing his sandwich away and walks around me. I follow him and keep my pace.

"Alright then...." I say as we get into the elevator. I glance at Steve and smile to myself. I'm so glad he's talking to me. Then my other annoying voice returned. Well I'm glad you and Mr. Captain Sexy are back together again. WE ARE NOT TOGETHER AND I DO NOT HAVE FEELINGS FOR HIM! Yeah right...You say that but it's clear you do. I AM your deepest desires so...ha!

I shook my head as the elevator opened. This was going to be fun...

"ALRIGHT ALRIGHT ENOUGH! I THINK I'VE HAD ENOUGH!" I yelled panting as I lay on the ground in the training room as Steve looks down on me smirking.

"C'mon Nat. Get up." He said lightly kicking my leg.

"Fine! Whatever." I say holding out my hand. He rolls his eyes and grabs it but instead off helping me up, I pull him down so that we both lay there on the ground. I wrestle him until he's lying on his chest and I'm sitting on his back.

"HAHAHAH! I gotcha!!!" Underneath me I feel him chuckle.

"Alright okay okay..." he said and I criss crossed my legs planning to sit there for a little bit.

"Your pretty comfortable." I say moving around.

"EWWW! Stop rubbing your butt around on my back!" He said laughing as if he had forgotten about last week.

"Whoops...sorry." I say laying out on top of him.

"Do I look like bed woman?" He asked.

"No...but..." I said smiling as I stretched out and got comfortable. His chest was so wide and he was so muscular you could use him as a bed or something!

"I could fall asleep right here...." I say resting my head on his back.

He then rested his head on his arms and laid there now relaxed and still.

"I guess your pretty comfortable too..." he says which suprised me. I glanced at Steves face and saw that his eyes were closed and there was a smile on his face. I didn't relize how cute he was...
I shook my head and then laid back down closing my eyes. And within a few minutes I had fallen asleep right there on his back....which was quite unusual...But I somehow liked it.
