Hey guys, I'm so sorry about not updating like I said I would, we had a family emergency. But Sightless had the most reads on the last chapter, so here is your update! I will try very hard to update tomorrow!

~ Today ~

"It seems to me we haven't thanked our host properly." Rick said happily as our dinner continued on. I still couldn't get myself to relax as Daryl was still standing behind me, and every so often he would brush against me, or my hair would move from his breath.

"He is more than just our host!" Dale added, and a chorus of 'Hear, hear!' followed.

"Here's to you doc. Booyah!" Daryl called from behind me, slurring his words a bit as some fluid sloshed around and I had to assume he was taking a big drink. 'Booyah!'s chorused after, and there was the sounds of glasses clinking. But it all came to a stop when Shane opened his mouth.

"So, when are you gonna tell us what the hell happened here, doc?" Shane rumbled, and it became very quiet as he continued.

"All the... the other doctors that were supposed to be figuring out what happened, where are they?"

"We're celebrating, Shane. Don't need to do this now." Rick argued. And while I understood his point, I mean we are at dinner, these are questions that need to be answered.

"Whoa, wait a second. This is why we're here, right? This was your move... supposed to find all the answers. Instead we..." He cut himself off with a chuckle. "We found him. Found one man. Why?" Someone cleared their throat, and then Jenner started talking.

"Well, when things got bad, a lot of people just left. Went off to be with their families. And when things got worse, when the military cordon got overrun, the rest bolted."

"Every last one?" Shane questioned.

"No. Many couldn't face walking out the door. They... opted out. There was a rash of suicides. That was a bad time." Jenner said, and I felt myself stiffen but didn't say a word.

"You didn't leave. Why?" Andrea asked.

"I just kept working. Hoping to do some good." There was a long pregnant pause before T-Dog cut the tension.

"Dude, you are such a buzzkill man."

[Trigger Warning]

When everyone finished eating, Jenner led us to a different part of the facility where he said we could stay while we were here.

"Most of the facility is powered down including housing, so you'll have to make do here. The couches are comfortable, but there are cots in storage if you like. There's a rec room down the hall that you kids might enjoy. Just don't plug in the video games, okay? Or anything that draws power. The same applies, if you shower, go easy on the hot water." He explained as he led us down what felt like a never ending hallway.

"Hot water?" I heard Glenn whisper.

"That's what the man said!" T-Dog said, sounding very excited as there were two sets of feet stumbling off and then a knob squeaking as it was turned. I didn't make it two more steps before someone grabbed my arm and I was jerked to a stop.

"Oof!" I grunted as I stumbled, and the hand moved from my arm to the small of my back.

"M' sorry." Daryl's deep voice rumbled out and I felt those goosebumps rise again. I nodded, but didn't say anything else, waiting to see what he wanted.

"There's a room right here, you, Max and Hendrix can stay in there. And I will be next door." I nodded and let him lead me and Hendrix into a room. I heard a few small steps behind us so that must be Max. I heard something plop, and figured it was our things.

"There's a door on the left leads to a bathroom. If you need me just holler." Daryl said as he clopped out the room.

"Max?" I called quietly.

"Yeah?" He grumbled from somewhere to my right.

"Why don't you take a shower first, and then you can go and play with the others in the rec room."

"Okay mom." Max said before taking a few steps, and I heard the shower turn on a few moments later. It was then that I decided it was time to try and figure out what was in this room. I took a few steps, Hendrix yipping at me when I got to close to something, which allowed me to bend down and feel whatever it was.

After several long minutes I discovered that there was a cot with a pillow and a blanket, and a couch that folded out into a bed, plus two tables and a lamp in this room. I don't know what it could have been used for before, but I was grateful for it now. A few more minutes later the shower turned off, and soft feet padded out of the bathroom.

"Your turn mom. I'll get dressed then go to the rec room. Try and find a book." I nodded, and Max called Hendrix so he would lead me into the bathroom. When I heard the sound of my steps change from carpet to tile, I turned back towards Max and called for him.

"Max, take Hendrix with you, just in case." I felt the lead tug from my hand, and Max gave me a firm push so I took a step back, and the door closed softly. After stripping my clothes I stumbled around until I stepped into the shower, and let myself enjoy the hot water.

It wasn't until I heard the door click open softly that I froze with cleaning myself up.

"Max?" I called, thinking that he normally announces himself before he enters a room, especially if he needs me while I'm in the bathroom. But no-one replied, and a moment later the bathroom door opened, and large heavy steps echoed on the tile.

"Who is it?" I cried, trying to cover myself with my hands, as I knew that was not what my sons steps sounded like. All I heard was a chuckle, and then the shower door was ripped open, and a large, very rough hand grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the shower. Before I could scream, another hand was shoved over my mouth, and I was forced to the ground.

The cold tile almost burned against my skin as I was pressed against it. A body was laid atop mine, and I would have been worried that it was a walker, but the lips roughly kissing my neck proved otherwise. A knee wedge it's way between my legs, and the arm that had been gripping my bicep moved to grab my hand as I started hitting whoever it was.

When he let go of my bicep, I attempted to use the other arm as well, but it was easy for him to grab both of my hands in his much larger one, and still keep his hand over my mouth.

"Stay still!" The man growled, but his voice was so distorted and I was so scared that I didn't recognize who it was. A moment later the hand left my mouth, I took my chance to scream, but before a sound escaped my lips his harsh lips were pressed against mine, blocking all sound from escaping as he used his hand to line himself up with my entrance.

I screamed, no longer caring if the sound would escape or not as he shoved himself inside me, tearing me open. I thrashed, bucked, twisted, anything that I could to try and dislodge him but he was much bigger, and much heavier than me, and he had a very distinct advantage.

It didn't last long, and when he was finished, he left me in the floor. Exhausted, weak, bloody and bruised.

I felt disgusting as the bathroom door clicked closed, and a moment later the bedroom door. I had been used, once again, and once again I could do nothing to stop it.

My last thoughts before I passed out in the floor?

Maybe this time I won't wake back up to this nightmare.
