Chapter 16
I woke up the next morning at 9 in the morning. Nine more hours ‘till the party. What shall I do until then?
I got off of my bed and put my fuzzy, bunny slippers on and dragged myself to my mirror. I got a comb and ran it through my dark brown hair. I styled it into a low ponytail and did my other morning rituals. After that, I went to my laptop and waited for it to open.
“Come on!” I said impatiently. I wonder if GB152 already replied.
“You’ve Got Mail!” My computer’s electronic voice bounced off the walls. I clicked the mailbox and the new email appeared in the screen.

I can’t believe in a week’s time it’s already Christmas. I really can’t wait! Can you? What do you love about Christmas?
I love the children carolling on the streets when you go Christmas shopping. I love the busy streets filled with people holding packages, the Santa Claus’ in Times Square and the Christmas display at toy stores. I love how every year all the stores decorate for Christmas. I love how everyone – from families to mortal enemies – put aside their differences just for this one holiday, Christmas.
Have you ever been in a snowball fight? They’re awesome. I just had one with my friends about an hour ago when we went out for breakfast. We joined some kids who were playing and had the time of our lives!
Oh, and one more thing I love about Christmas is the gift giving. Don’t get me wrong. I know that giving is better than receiving. It’s just that I like the expressions on people’s faces when they receive gifts especially when they open it on Christmas morning. I’d send you a gift but sadly, I don’t know your address.
Aw! He wants to send me a gift. How sweet. It makes me even more curious to know who he is. As for the snowball fight, I haven’t even had one. I know, I’m such a loser.
I pressed the send reply button and began writing my response.

I love a lot of things about Christmas. I love how Starbucks adds those special drinks during the holidays. I love singing Christmas carols and songs. I also love watching Christmas movies. I know you can watch them anytime of the year but it just seems wrong because it isn’t Christmas yet. Ha-ha! I love to see Christmas crackers, giant teddy bears with ribbons and toy trains on window displays. I love seeing people all dressed in red, white and green during Christmas. I like how children and teens wear Reindeer antlers or Santa hats when they go out. I also like the huge Ice Rink where everyone skates. My dad always takes me there when I was little. It was before he got super busy. I miss those days. But sometimes it’s time for new traditions, right?
Honestly, I haven’t even had a snowball fight. It looks fun but getting hit with ice is not my thing. It probably hurts and you’ll get wet. I’d give you a gift too you know. But under our circumstances, I can’t.
I pressed send. Not a minute after, there was a video chat request that popped onto my screen. It was from Taylor.
“Hi Brielle!” Taylor said after I pressed the accept button.
“Hey.” I greeted back.
“I can’t wait for the party! It’s just in eight hours. You’ll promise you’ll come early to help me check out if everything’s in order, right?” She asked me, looking at me through the video camera.
