Authors Note: Sorry it took me so long but I finally have free time so here it is. I hope it was worth the wait if not let me know.
I've gone to school with most of the kids here since elementary, so imagine my surprise to find a threatening note taped to my locker. It was on a Wednesday afternoon; when the school day was over and I stayed because there was basketball practice. I waited until practice was over to finally go and get my books out of my locker. Taped to my locker was a plain white sheet of paper that said Aby in neat cursive writing. I looked down the hall to both my left and right but I didn't see anyone besides the janitor. Shrugging my shoulders I removed the note and opened it up. You are nothing but a no good nigga that deserves to die. You people have taken everything from us and now you have to take our men. Well I'm not going to let this one go unnoticed. You should watch your back because we are watching and waiting to take our revenge.
By the time I was done reading the note I was trembling. My mind raced with questions and my heart wouldn't slow down. I was terrified. Never in my life have I ever been threaten nor have I had any direct contact with racism. The fact that this person could possibly go to school with me only pushed my fear to the max. I was shocked out of my thoughts by the feel of someone's arms wrapped around my waist. I put my hand on my chest and quickly stuffed the paper in my pocket. I looked down at the hands and felt them squeeze me closer. "Are you ready to go,"Adam whispered in my ear. I leaned back and let my head rest on his shoulder before I turned towards his neck and gave it a little peck. He pulled me closer to him and nibbled on my ear. I giggled,"yea I'm ready."
We left and my mind stayed glued to the note in my pocket. He drove me home and gave me a kiss goodbye. I told him I'll call him tonight and he gave me another kiss before I got out the car. I mindlessly went through the rest of my day until 9:00 when I got a phone call. I didn't recognized the number so I was very tempted not to answer, but I figured it had to be someone I knew because they were calling at a late hour. When I answered the phone all I heard at first was hard breathing and then the person hung up. I hung up the phone a little creeper out.
The person called again and I picked up the phone. "Hello...hello...hello," but the person didn't answer. There was still the heavy breathing sound. I was starting to get frustrated and usually when I got frustrated my mouth and brain were on two separate paths. I decided to just hang up because whoever the person was clearly didn't know who they were messing with. My phone rang again and this time when I answered it I went straight into action." Look whoever this is I would appreciated if you chose not to play on my cellular device. Its not funny nor cute so stop calling me before I call the cops and have this number tracked." The person was quiet and I was about to hang up until I heard the person say," I'll like to see you try bitch." The line went dead after that and I was beyond heated.
I was ready to go off no better yet I was ready to murder the person that called me. If that was one thing I couldn't stand was being called out of my name. I do not tolerate that from anyone. I am not one of those females that go around and refer to themselves as the "baddest bitch" because that only gives someone permission to call me a bitch, and that definitely wasn't going to happen. So whoever that was on the phone didn't know me and I wish there was a way I could introduce myself to them. So they will know that the word bitch shouldn't be in their vocabulary when you are trying to describe me.
I was in the middle of my mental rant when my phone began ringing again. I didn't check to see who it was. I assumed that it was the person from before so I answered the phone and started to go off. "Listen here you little ignorant low life, I am not nor will I ever be anyone's bitch," that was as far as I went before I heard male laughter. Adam's laughter to be more specific. I blushed and thanked god that he couldn't see me. When be finally calmed down from laughing he said,"what was all that about. Who called you a bitch and hopefully for their sake they do not have low self-esteem because being called a low life is really a bruiser to the ego." I bit my lip and layer back on my bed. It took me a minute to answer because I was relishes and savoring the sound of his voice. When I finally spoke I had to bite the inside of my cheeks to keep from going ga ga over his voice. "Nobody just some loser that was playing on my phone." He was silent for a minute then he spoke," are you ok." A gentle smile graced my fave because of his concern."yea I'm ok." We were quiet after that but then he asked me how the rest of my day went and it was like the conversation just flowed from there. We talked until it was three in the morning and the only reason why we hung up the phone was because we had to get up for school I'm like the next three hours.
