13th Doctor One-Shots

Beautiful

It's way too long since I've done this...

Hi!

In the last chapter thing I said (for some reason) that I would (try to) update this book once every month starting in December. Now, seeing as it's December, I thought I'd better publish another chapter.

This one's really short, again. I might try and write longer one-shots.

Anyway, hope you enjoy it :)

Far, far away, there's a place.

A place where the grass is orange and the sky is green. Where the sunsets are blue and the sea is pink. A place where the stars shine brighter than you could imagine. It's beautiful.

"How beautiful?" Sonya asks eagerly.

"Very beautiful," Yaz replies. "Now shush, and let me finish the story. In this place, the moon shines in the daytime, and the sun is peaceful and dark."

"But-" Sonya starts to say, no doubt to tell Yaz that that doesn't make any sense, because the sun doesn't do peaceful, but Yaz gives her a look so she stops. "What are the people like?" she asks instead.

"The people are... the people are kind. Very kind. There aren't many of them, it's a small place, but they're all really nice. You'd love them."

"Can we go there?" Sonya asks, yawning.

"Maybe one day." Yaz smiles, as she pulls the blankets over her little sister.

"Your story was short."

"Only because you're falling asleep."

"Am not." the seven year old insists, her eyelids drooping.

"Alright then, if you say so." Yaz chuckles. "Night night."

"Mm. Night." hums Sonya, already falling asleep.

Years later, when both Yaz and Sonya were much older, Yaz met the Doctor.

With the Doctor, she got to see amazing places. She saw places with orange grass and green skies, and places where there were blue sunsets and pink seas.

She even went to a place where the moon shone in the day, and where the sun came out at night.

And that was when Yaz realised, that the universe was so much bigger than she thought. It was so much more amazing. And it was indeed, very, very beautiful.
