Banksy

Hey my dudes I'm back with another part of this embarrassing fanfiction!

I thought this would be a quick one that I finished in half an hour or something but then I started jamming to Girl In Red, and watching compilations of gay tiktoks on YouTube, and then I wasn't happy with the end, so I changed it, then changed it again, and before you know it it's taken me a whole week to write this. I seem to be very good at procrastinating.

Well, that's all I've got to say. Enjoy! - cornflakecat

"Hey, have any of you got a minute?" the Doctor asks from her position under the console.

Ryan and Graham look up at Yaz, who sighs, then sets the copy of Twilight that she was reading on the floor. "Yeah? What is it?"

"I left my spanner in my room, and I *really* need it right now, and I can't get it, because if I take my hand off this panel then..." She sucks in a breath. "Well, it wouldn't be good. Would you mind fetching it for me?"

"Spanner, right. Wait, how do I know which room's yours?"

"The TARDIS'll show you. The spanner should be on the desk."

"Ok. I'll be right back." Yaz jumps up and walks briskly along the TARDIS corridor, not wanting to find out what would happen if the Doctor took her hand away from the panel. Hopefully it wouldn't involve explosions. Knowing the Doctor it probably would.

The TARDIS illuminated a navy blue door speckled with stars which had appeared at the end of the corridor. The Doctors room, Yaz presumed.

She cautiously pushed the door open and stepped inside, flicking on the light. Scanning the room she quickly saw the spanner, which was amongst various pieces of paper and stationary that were littered across the desk. Above the desk was a pinboard covered in photos of different people and places, but looking at them too closely felt like intruding in the Doctors personal life, so she picked up the spanner and quickly turned away. Looking at the rest of the room, Yaz saw the brightly coloured rainbow flags attached to a string on the headboard, and what seemed like every book Agatha Christie had written lined up on a bookshelf. Then something else caught her eye.

At the foot of the bed sat a black rucksack which was wide open, and full to the brim with scraps of paper and... cans of spray paint.

It was a few days after Grace's funeral, and life with the Doctor was still fairly new to them back then. The Doctor, Yaz, Ryan and Graham were in the motel in Montgomery, Alabama. The Doctor was gathering all the facts that they knew about Rosa Parks, and she had taken out a black marker pen, then started writing on the walls. Graham had protested, worrying that they would get in trouble for vandalism. The Doctor had insisted that it was 'a special pen', but Graham was still worried, and told her to stop, saying that she wasn't Banksy.

Yaz bent down to pick up a piece of paper that had drifted further into the middle of the room. It was a rough sketch of a young girl reaching out to a red heart-shaped balloon.

The Doctor had simply turned to Graham with a mysterious look in her eyes and replied 'Or am I?'

"No actual way..." Yaz laughs. She really hadn't been joking, had she?

Yaz runs back to the console room and passes the spanner to the Doctor, who was still halfway under the console.

"Aw, thanks! You're a great help." The Doctor was the sort of person that even when you couldn't see their face, you could practically hear their grin when they spoke.

"Doctor, can I ask you something?"

"Well, you just did, technically, but I know what you mean. Yes, you can, just give me a minute..." Yaz waited until the banging stopped and the Doctor finally emerges from the console then stands up and puts her goggles on her forehead. "What's up?"

She decided it would be best to get straight to the point. "Doctor, are you Banksy?" Ryan and Graham look up from there books and the Doctor finds herself under the gaze of all three of them.

"W- I- erm... well, um, I mean..." she stutters, unsure of how she was going to get out of this one.

She sighs.

"Yeah. I am."

Graham laughs to himself. "You really weren't joking that time, were you?"

"Our best mate is Banksy. How cool is that?" remarks Ryan, punching the Doctor lightly on the arm.

"I also noticed the tiny pride flags above your bed..." Yaz says, grinning at the Doctor.

"Ok. Remind me to get the spanner myself next time." she said seriously but then grinned happily at her friends. "So. Where to next?"
