It was tricky. Bakugou was currently about halfway across the Mariana Trench (or at least he assumed), due to the pitch black water he was currently swimming through. The only thing allowing him to even see his hand in front of his face was the slightly bright light of the f/c colored scales within the tail of the female mer swimming only slightly ahead of him (much to his disapproval). However, Y/n's glowing scales were the only thing that allowed Bakugou to find his way around as they swam through the seemingly endless black abyss surrounding them. Looking up, down or to either side would be in vain unless the goal was to look at a black screen directly. The only directions that showed something other than black was forwards in the direction of the female that was currently glowing, or back, where the cavern they had originated from was still in sight, revealing a soft glow from the inside that grew smaller the farther they went.

Darkness was not, in fact, the only reason Bakugou was having a hard time swimming at the same speed as the female. Although Bakugou was perfectly fit and a powerful swimmer he was unaccustomed to the water's strong pressure against his body, making him feel like he was being flattened slowly. As if the water pressure wasn't bad enough for his body he still held the seaweed bandages attached to his tail to accelerate the recovery of his injuries, and the intense water pressure currently pushing at his body from every which way did not help.

Bakugou could have sworn they had been swimming for hours on end, when in truth hey had only swam for about an hour and a half. Bakugou had been confused at first about why they would leave not too long after the sun had begun to lower from its highest peak throughout the day (at least that's what his internal clock would tell him.) He had also wondered why they would need an excessive amount of food and supplies that would last them a minimum of two days. Bakugou was convinced that the female's territory could not be large enough that it would be a two day travel to reach the border. He saw it as impractical since it would be harder to defend from intruders and such. It hadn't taken him long to actually figure it all out. Bakugou had realized that you had been trying to go at a time where both of you would be awake, in which so happens to be noon. This limits the amount of time they can travel before Bakugou is the one who will require rest. Therefore, extending the amount of time they will take to reach the border of Y/n's territory.

They had been swimming in silence for the past two hours since they had begun their journey. Suddenly a voice finally broke the silence. "So you somehow moved from the Northern sea to the complete opposite here in the Southern sea. How did that happen?" asked Y/n as she turned her head slightly over her left shoulder to look back at Bakugou, who only held an annoyed or irritated look. "That's none of your damn business!!" exclaimed a clearly bothered Bakugou. Of course he would never tell someone he had just met a few hours ago what happens in his life. Actually. even if he hadn't just met the new mer, he would rather die before telling her (or anyone) about the fact that he had simply lowered his guard and managed to be captured by humans.

As Bakugou clearly showed his distaste for the topic Y/n decided to simply let him be as she faced forward once again. Even so she decided that the silence between them would only make their trip more difficult for both of them if they failed to learn how to communicate with each other.

"I would prefer if we didn't take this whole trip in silence. We may require knowing how to communicate with one another later on. Since we most likely won't ever see each other again why don't we just ask each other some questions? Best if we avoid as many personal things as we can" said Y/n as she remained facing forward. Bakugou disliked small talk, despised it even, but he had a feeling that he wouldn't get much of a chance to avoid the female's request since she had already begun with her first question.

"Do you have a favorite color?" said Y/n as she tried to think of more questions. Bakugou sighed as he knew he would have to deal with it for a long while. Perhaps he could get information from the girl and discover her true motives. At least that's what he intended to do, until he had started asking slightly more questions with a bit more eagerness than he had intended. He listened as she would respond and she would turn to him when he spoke. Things had become interesting as they had somehow jumped to the topic of weaponry, which weapon was stronger, faster, more flexible, etc. It had truly become an interesting topic for the two as they talked about their preferences on how to engage in combat. Bakugou was now swimming next to Y/n as she had made her scales glow a bit brighter to help him see ahead of him. Things had truly begun to feel more interesting between the two as they conversed.

Until...
