The easiest way to deal with my insecurity and suspicion was to confront Niall, and just ask him who Samantha is. But it wasn't as easy as it sounds. I remembered almost two years back, when I had a fight with my father and didn't even get the chance to apologize to him because of a stupid misunderstanding. The result was that I lost my whole family. Today, all that I had with me was Niall. The only person with me, for me, and around me in the whole wide world. The moment I thought of confronting him, the fear of making him feel like he still hasn't won my trust, rose in my heart. What came following was hurting him, and that was something I totally despised. Therefore, I thought of letting it go, and pretending as if nothing happened.

Until last night when he asked me something.

“Lily?” Niall asked, as soon as we grabbed the chairs.

“Hmm,” I responded, not meeting eyes with him and instead eating the chicken lasagne that he made.

“Look at me,” he demanded.

I stopped chewing, and looked at him after a few seconds. His oceanic blue eyes turned grey, and cold. It could've been so many things but at that moment all I could think was receiving a shocking confession from him.

“Why do you stay so gloomy these days?” he asked.

“I don’t,” I broke our gaze, looking down on my plate and eating.

“Don’t lie to me, Lily.”

I kept quiet.

“I know I'm the reason.” he said. I looked up straight into his eyes.

“I know I've been letting you down. I….I've pushed you away twice when we were about to have sex. And I know how embarrassing it must've been for you. I'm really sorry, baby,” he took my hands, and held them tightly.

I looked lost into his regretful eyes, not knowing what to say.

“Office has been really hectic and rough and I know that shouldn't be any excuse because even you’re busy with your office and shoot but I'm not strong like you. And you know that. Anyway, excuses aside; I'm sorry. I know I have been a total jerk, and even broke my promise of coming to your shoot so I've a plan. Tomorrow, I’ll go to your shoot and we’ll come home, and celebrate the end of it. I’ll cook dinner. Just you and me the whole time, okay?” he smiled, closing his eyes briefly.

The fact that he didn't mention about Samantha relieved a part of my heart which felt that she might be too petty to even discuss about, but the other part feared that he might be hiding something really big, and it’s the regret that is compelling him to make it up to me. I was confused as hell, how and what to react.

“I love you, Lily. Please, I'm sorry,” he urged.

“Okay, sounds great,” I caved in like always. He kissed my hands.

The cab-driver stopped just before the main gate as I instructed. We got down the vehicle, and being that proper boyfriend, Niall pulled out the wallet from his back pocket and paid the fare. I let him do it for it felt good being treated like that by the old Niall, my baby who had disappeared for a few days. We entered the Film Cut Production’s film city where the set for the advertisement’s shoot was planted. The scene resembled that of a war with people running around here, and there. As much normal I appeared, Niall looked befuddled.

“Jesus, huh?” he gasped. “They look like characters from Gulliver’s Travels.”

I laughed, and retorted, “Well said.”
