Starting dawn, Cross stayed in the training room most of the time. Even during breaks, he was training intensely to prepare for what he was planning on doing tonight. The knights did notice, but they assumed he was feeling excited or something for no reason. Sometimes those things happen to them as some sort of self pep talk, or just feeling good about themselves. Though they've never seen something like Cross being so fired up about intense training.

Cross was even daring to challenge Horror. Killer and Dust tried saving Cross but Cross insisted so much on Horror. Each time after their battles, Horror would come out unscathed and Cross more and more beat up, but his own determination, the borrowed determination from XChara would keep up coming back up.

Cross's and Horror's battles would always be quick. It was like Horror wasn't even trying, nor was it close to his power.

Cross on the ground slowly pushed himself up with the aid of his knives. Horror held his axe to his shoulders. "Are you trying to tickle me?" Horror grinned, chuckling at Cross's attempt. The other knights watched their battle from the side.

Cross's eye glowed a bright purple before running back up to Horror. "If you want tips just ask! For one, your approach is too forward, anyone with eyes or ears can predict where your coming from!" Horror chuckled. Cross struck at Horror, but Horror teleported behind Cross.

"It's about being unpredictable, and quick with it!" Horror smirk, kicking Cross back to the ground. Cross fell with a grunt, getting back up still. "If you want to even get a scratch on me, then you better start making it harder for me to guess where you're going to appear. You have teleportation and other magic so use it! Your knives are not the only thing you have!" Horror told him.

Cross listened and attempted to do as said. Cross teleported to the left, then right, then to any random area. He was attempting to be quick with it to leave after pictures of himself. Horror glanced around, wondering where Cross was going to appear.

Cross then darted at him from a place he teleported at. Horror was quick to turn where Cross had charged at him to block his attack. "Good, but not good enough!" Horror smiled with a bit of excitement. Horror pushed Cross back, Cross feet dragging on the ground as he kept his balance.

"Oh! You even manage to not fall this time! I guess you are learning bit after bit!" Horror smiled. "Now- if you want a real example of unpredictable then!" Horror smiled then quickly darted at Cross.

Cross tensed up for Horror's attack. Horror threw his axe at Cross. Cross moved his focus on dodging the axe as Horror teleported beside him. Horror grabbed the handle of the axe before quickly putting the blade to Cross's throat. Cross froze seeming to be checkmated with.

"That's how you want to do it! Distracting your opponent to move even closer..." Horror chuckled. Cross held his breath before Horror moved the blade away from him. "You really need a break- why try so hard?" Horror asked.

"...I just want to catch up with you all" Cross looked to the side, deciding not to tell them. "Pff- go at your own pace, you think I became strong overnight? Relax, you'll get there," Horror smiled. "Now- you should catch up on rest...pace yourself or you're gonna burn out!" Horror patted him on the shoulder.

Horror was right. Cross decided a small break after a long day would be helpful. It is evening, soon it will be midnight and it would be time to investigate by himself.

Back at the cabin was Blue and Outer preparing to go to town and attempt to be quick. They put on their cloaks and held their mask in hand. They had satchels and many baskets to hand out to more people in town. Along with a few of Outer's little trinkets and potions for escaping. From upstairs came thumps all the way down.
