The Sun and Moon Cross Paths

The Results

As Cross waited for his results Nightmare told the other knights to go look around the castle and it's town to find Dream, and to capture him. Cross was still tired and didn't want to stand up for weeks, but Lord Nightmare started to approach him, making Cross quickly stand up straight and wait for him.

Cross could feel his legs shake in pain and agony, as Nightmare stood in front of him. "That was an impressive fight Cross" Nightmare said. I wanted to jump in the air and dance, but I contained my excitement, "I'm certain that you'll get in...the only thing that disappointed me...was how you couldn't kill my brother" Nightmare said, with a little disappointment in his voice.

I felt my soul crack at his words. Nightmare was disappointed in me, I'd have to train harder, so next time I face Dream, I can defeat him and make Nightmare content with me. "I know you put your whole soul into this fight for me...I could see it through your determination...I like that about you Cross...you relax now, you deserve it..." Nightmare said as he started to walk away.

I felt the crack in my soul heal a bit, he cared for me. I did as told and sat back down. I've always admired Nightmare and all he has done for this kingdom. I bet his brother is going to ruin it all, I promise Nightmare! I won't let that happen!

I just need to train harder, that fight with Dream was difficult and it seemed as if we were at equal strengths...I just need to make my weaknesses, strengths and quickly before Dream gets stronger, so when I'm strong enough, I can defeat Dream and please my king.

"Hey Cross! You aren't planning some scheme are you?" Horror said, "Oh, hey! I thought Lord Nightmare said to check the castle" I said, "Yeah, I did, everything is fine. Dust did insist to double check, but I didn't wanna, so here I am!" Horror said.

"Heh, so, what do I do if I pass the test?" I asked, "Oh, easy, you get to do stuff with us! You get to go on mission and adventures, but it's mostly just following Nightmare orders" Horror explained, "Fun..." I said with sarcasm, "I know, we're pretty annoying all the time, but you'll get used to it" Horror said leaning on the wall.

"So, before I got here, you seemed thoughtful, what was on your mind?" Horror asked, "Oh, I was just thinking about getting stronger is all" I replied, "What? Stronger? Hell man, your already buff as hell, leave some of the muscle to us!" Horror said as I chuckled.

"I just want to please Nightmare, he said he was a bit disappointed that I couldn't kill Dream" I said, "So you wanna get stronger and kill Dream, or capture him?" Horror asked, "Yeah, basically" I said looking down playing with my fingers, "Hey, you don't have to do it alone, we're a team!" Horror said, "I know! I just want Nightmare to be happy is all" I said.

"You seem to look up to him" Horror said, "Yeah, I am, he's done so much for this kingdom that I wanted to protected it with him, that's why I wanted to join the moon knights, to fulfill my dream" I said, "Wow, that's touching" Horror commented.

"Yeah...that day, when Nightmare trapped Dream in stone, Dream had accidentally caused some ruble to break and fall, unfortunately, I was under some of that ruble that was falling, trying to help people get to safety. Nightmare is loyal to his people, so when he saw ruble about to fall on me, he pushed me out of the way and took in all the ruble. I'm forever in his debt...if he didn't save me, I'd probably be dead, since Nightmare took some serious damage, that took a long time for it to heal that day. That's when I wanted to protect Nightmare kingdom and it's people, to keep it save from Dream." I explained

"Seems like a big deal. I mean, you did almost die" Horror said, "Yeah, that's why I want to help Nightmare in anyway I can" I said. "Hey guys!" Killer called out as he walked over to us with the others.

"Oh, hey! How was double checking the kingdom?" Horror asked with a smirk and a brow raised, "Fine! without your help!" Error huffed, crossing his arms, "What? He said to just check the kingdom, not double check!" Horror said putting his arms up with his hands to the side, "Whatever! We checked it for you, so you owe us!" Error said, "Sure thing, glitch!" Horror said as he put his arms down.
