Wednesday
"Soooo, I have something to tell you guys." Chan started at lunch. Everybody's attention immediately went to him.
"What is it?" Jisung asked.
"Soo, for the first time in like 3 years, I am going on a date." Jisung immediately squealed out of excitement.
"Does he know it's a date?" Minho snorted. Jisung smacked his arm.
"Who is it?" Hyunjin asked.
"I'm not telling yet."
"That's not fair." Minho griped. "You said you'd tell me when it was official. You're literally going on a date, that seems pretty official to me."
"I know, I know. I just don't want to introduce you to him until I can introduce him as my boyfriend." Chan blushed to himself, not believing he was saying something so cheesy out loud.
"Awww, hyung, that's adorable." Jisung giggled, teasing Chan.
"You better ask him to be your boyfriend soon, I'm impatient as hell," Hyunjin complained, laughing.
"I mean, I won't tell you who it is, but I can tell you a little bit about him," All 3 of them immediately went quiet wanting to know every possible detail. "So, he's a sophomore and I think he's in one of Jisung's classes cause I think I've heard you talk about him. Luckily, that doesn't narrow it down too much cause Jisung never shuts up. He's so cute, you don't understand." Jisung sat there for a second, trying to think of who it could be. Realization slowly hit him and he smiled at Chan.
"I think I know." Chan looked at him shocked.
"No fucking way," Jisung nodded, smiling.
"If it's who I'm thinking, that is just adorable."
"Well, what if it's not who you're thinking?"
"Chan, I know you. I know your type. I'm definitely right."
"Doubt it." Lunch continued and they were on their way to class when Minho stopped the younger. This was the first time they had talked just the two of them since Friday.
"Do you want to spy on Chan on his date after school?" Minho asked, excited to find out who Chan was with. Even more excited to spend one-on-one time with Jisung. It was obvious that Jisung was hesitant. "C'mon man, we haven't actually hung out in weeks." Minho pleaded. Jisung wanted to. He wanted to so bad. But he was doing so good lately. He hadn't been thinking of Minho 24/7 and he was starting to get over his crush. One hangout won't hurt.
"Sure." Jisung agrees and smiles. Minho reciprocated the smile and then the two parted ways, heading to their own classes.
--
"Okay, so do you know where the date is?" Jisung asked.
"So, he probably decided to go somewhere quiet. Chan said they talked while at the library so maybe they went on a study date or something." Minho proposed.
"And he does really love that one small diner downtown. That's probably where they went. Luckily, it's only like a ten-minute walk."
"Lead the way." Minho gestured his hand out and the two began walking downtown. They walked in silence, neither of them knowing what to talk about. This was the first time it had been truly awkward between the two of them. The two of them occasionally mentioned something around them, but they couldn't hold a conversation, both of them too worried they'd say the wrong thing. They eventually made their way to the shop and peaked in through the windows. Sure as hell, there Chan was, sitting at a table alone. He was clearly nervous, fiddling with his watch and sleeves, eyes glued to the door.
The two entered the cafe from the side entrance where Chan couldn't see them. They quickly sat down at a table in the back, both of them facing the same direction as Chan. The server walked over and took their order. They each ordered something small, neither having a big appetite at the moment. They sat in the booth next to each other. While they tried to blame their nerves on being excited to see Chan's date, it was obvious that wasn't the only reason.
Their hands rested on the table so close. Jisung tried to watch the door, but he couldn't help it when his gaze landed on Minho's hands for the 10th time. He wondered how the older would react if he just intertwined their fingers right then and there. Get it together. You're here for Chan. Not for Minho. The bell above the door rang, drawing both of their attention to who had entered the room. A familiar mop of blue hair trotted into the building, a wide smile plastered across his face. He looked across the room until he found exactly who he was looking for. His smile only grew and he made his way to the table, just a few feet away from Minho and Jisung.
"Innie!" Chan said, excited as he stood up, wrapping his arms around the boy with the blue hair. "I already ordered you a drink, is lemonade okay?"
"It's perfect, thank you." He replied. Jisung tried his best not to freak out in his seat and draw too much attention to their table.
"Oh my fucking god, I knew it." Jisung squealed watching as Chan and Jeongin held hands over the table. "They're so cute together."
"You know who else is cute together?" Minho asked, grinning to himself.
"Who?" Jisung asked, only half paying attention to what the older had asked.
"Us." He whispered, his lip lightly brushing against Jisung's ear. When had he gotten that close?
"Hyung," Jisung whined, smacking Minho's shoulder. "You do that shit on purpose."
"Do what? I didn't do anything."
"You know that I like yo-" Jisung froze. No no no no no he did not just say that out loud.
"What do I know?" Minho asked, his eyes going wide. Jisung's voice got caught in his throat.
"I- um-" Jisung quickly tried to come up with a lie to cover his own ass. "You know that I hate it when you act like, boundaries, remember?" Jisung tried to play it off.
"No. That's not what you were going to say." Minho pushed further. "You weren't gonna say shit about having boundaries. What do I know?"
"You know that I like you....." Jisung whispered, looking down at the table in front of him, afraid to see Minho's reaction. It was silent for a moment, Jisung panicking that everything was ruined now. "Listen, I'm sorry. This is why I wanted there to be a line, I didn't want to scare you off and I don't want to like you. I know you don't feel the same, I get it if you want to leave and stop being friends with me, I-"
"Shut the fuck up." Minho groaned, pulling Jisung's head to his, smashing their lips together.
