Hiroto laid his head on his desk, trying to get in one last bit of shut eye before the new week started. Class wasn't due to start for a while, but at the moment, this was the quietest place on campus. He had purposely gotten up early and left the dorms before the others to extend his solitude by as much as possible.
Although he had actually enjoyed some aspects of the trip to the mall the day before, the fact remained that he hadn't been able to properly prepare himself for the week ahead. Knowing the others, they would've pounced on him first thing in the morning and talked his ear off all the way into class. Although it required him to interrupt his sleep, he was able to get more useful rest this way. He shut his eyes and prepared to take a quick power nap before the first students arrived for class.
"There you are, Hiro-kun!" Terra's energetic voice split the silence.
"Well, so much for that plan," he thought to himself. He groaned and tilted his head up to see Terra standing expectantly next to his desk. Her face was glowing with its usual perky energy, but there was a hint of concern in her eyes too. "What brings you to class so early?"
"I was looking for you!" she exclaimed. "Shion said you weren't in your room this morning, and that's not like you! Usually you're sleeping in as late as possible. Why the change today?"
"Gee, I don't know," Hiroto retorted sarcastically. "People knocking on my door first thing in the morning and hunting me down when I just want some quiet? It's a mystery, that's for sure."
"Oh . . . so you . . . and then I . . . oh." Terra's smile fell as she realized the situation. "Sorry, I just wanted to make sure you were okay, but I guess you are, so . . . I'll just let you get back to it." She turned away with a slight air of dejection about her and slowly walked toward the classroom door.
Hiroto sighed and sat up in his seat. "It's okay, Terra. You don't have to go?"
Her head perked up and whipped around. "Really? Because I don't want to throw you off or anything."
"Nah, I'm gonna need to get acclimated to this sooner or later." Terra hopped excitedly and zoomed to her desk, taking her seat next to Hiroto. "But . . . maybe tone it down just a little."
"Yes sir!" she said with a salute before relaxing ever so slightly. "Soooo . . . what did you think of yesterday?"
"Exhausting," Hiroto said simply as he slid down in his seat and rested his head on the back of the chair.
"Oh come on. You didn't have any fun?"
"Getting pulled in 7 different directions when nobody can make up their mind isn't exactly my idea of fun.""But you looked like you were enjoying yourself at the support shop."
Hiroto thought back to their first stop and how he was able to help the others with his observations of their Quirks. He hated to admit it, but a small part of him did enjoy himself, even if it was dampened by the energy of the shopkeeper. "I guess it was a little fun."
"Ha! I knew it!" Terra pumped her fist in victory. "We'll have to do it again sometime!"
"Well let's not get ahead of ourselves. That whole ordeal took a lot out of me, and I didn't get nearly as much rest as I would've liked."
"Fair enough. We can plan that out later."
"Thanks. I just need a little more recoup time before-"
"Oh, Hiro, darling!"
"-that." Hiroto let out a long groan as Shion entered the room, carrying a small box of some sort.
"I was hoping I'd find you here!" she said as she strolled up to his desk, ignoring Terra in the process. "I brought you a snack. I'll forgive you for not saying good morning to me, but I can't allow my boyfriend to start the week on an empty stomach." She opened the box to reveal a sizable batch of what appeared to be cookies. "Go ahead and try one! They're made with love!"
