The wind whipped through the corridors of the urban landscape as rain pelted Mahina, Yurei, and Megumi. "Why'd we have to get put in the Downpour Zone?" Yurei asked, a little annoyed. "This rain is miserable."

Megumi glared at him out of the corner of her eye. "You could activate your Quirk if it's that much of a problem. The rain would just go right through your ghost form, right?"

"Well . . . yeah . . ." Yurei hesitated. "It's just . . ."

"Oh, please don't do it just yet!" Mahina begged. "This place is creepy enough without a ghost flying around too." She quickly brought her hands to her mouth as she watched Yurei wince at the statement. "N-not that you're creepy or anything! That's not what I meant! It's just the atmosphere and everything already has me on edge." The girl shuddered just thinking about it.

Megumi huffed as they pressed forward. "For someone with an unnerving Quirk like yours, you certainly are skittish, Puppeteer."

"What are you talking about?" Mahina asked, completely oblivious. "My puppets are adorable!" She turned towards one of the buildings where several small, faceless dolls were peering through the cracked windows and open doorways. "Have you found anything yet?" she called out. One of the dolls turned towards her and shook its head from side-to-side. Mahin's shoulders slumped in frustration.

"Let's just get moving and find the rescue dummy," Yurei sighed. "The sooner we finish the training, the sooner we can dry-" Yurei was interrupted by a loud howling noise echoing through the buildings.

Mahina drew closer to the others, cowering slightly behind Yurei. "W-what was that?"

"It was just the wind," Megumi sighed.

Yurei looked unconvinced. "That . . . didn't sound like any wind I've ever heard."

"C-come on, Yurei!" Mahina's confident smile didn't match the nervousness in her voice. "I-if Megumi says it's the w-wind, then that's what it is." The trio headed toward another building across the street. Mahina and Yurei nervously glanced around them, heads jerking at the numerous noises caused by the gale force winds whipping past them. Megumi, on the other hand, seemed unfazed as she pressed forward.

"We can't let our surroundings distract us from our objective. If this was a real incident, saving lives is time-sensitive and of the utmost importance. We can't let fear and uncertainty keep us from that mission."

"Does anything ever faze you?" Mahina asked with an exasperated tone as they entered the building.

"Only things that warrant that reaction. This isn't one of them, Puppeteer" Megumi replied dryly without looking back.

As they delved further into the building, they heard another noise behind them: another low howl. Yurei's breathing got heavier, nearly in tears at this point. "That definitely wasn't the wind, guys!"

Mahina, swallowing her own fears and putting on a brave face, patted his shoulder gently. "We're gonna be fine, Ghoul. Phase is right. Now's not the time to be on-"

"Shh!" The two looked ahead to see Megumi had stopped in the middle of the corridor. "Ghoul is right. We're not alone," she stated in hushed seriousness.

"W-what? You're sure?" Mahina asked as the two joined her, standing back-to-back in a defensive formation. Megumi motioned for silence, and the three stood still, listening for what might be lurking around them. After a few moments, their bodies slowly began to relax a bit, not sensing any danger.

Suddenly, a large object came crashing through the ceiling above them and landed on the floor, sending the heroes flying off to the side. Rain fell through the opening, and wind kicked up dust and debris. The three trainees got back to their feet, trying to ready themselves, but nothing could have prepared them for what slowly emerged from the cloud of dust in the middle of the room. It was a hulking form, covered head to toe in dark, black skin. It's crazed eyes stared at them beneath what appeared to be exposed brain tissue. It's teeth, sharp and jagged, grinned menacingly at its prey as its mouth opened and unleashed an earth-shattering roar.
