Kage stood on the sidelines of the gym with the others as Ryuki, Terra, and Yusei took their positions for their match. "Aaaaaand . . . go!"
Not wanting to waste any time, Terra immediately rushed at Ryuki. The speedster's first pass caught her off-guard, but she was able to quickly adjust thanks to the added mobility from her wings.
"Woah, you're just as pumped up as I am! No holding back! Plus ultra!" Ryuki took a deep breath and unleashed a jet of fire from her mouth, forcing Terra to go on the defensive.
"Hot, hot, hot!" she cried out as she zoomed to safety, making sure to keep a hold on Ryuki's attention. "That's some breath you've got there!" She movingly waved her hand in front of her nose. "You could really use a breath mint though."
"Personal insults to get me riled up? That won't wor-" Ryuki was interrupted as a giant, pixelated breath mint plowed into the side of her, knocking her to the ground.
"You really should watch your back, Ryuki!" Yusei yelled from his position behind her.
"Nice job! And you used my witty banter!" Terra zoomed over and gave her partner sniff smile. "You are pretty quick on your feet."
Ryuki broke through the pixelated projectile, sending shards of light flying everywhere. "This is great! Just the environment to push me to a new level! Give me all you got!" Ryuki roasted as she grew her tail to a large size and whipped it at the premature celebration.
Hiroto gazed on the fight intently as he caught his breath. He knew this was, on paper, a very uneven match up. "Terra and Yusei's Quirks seem to work very well in tandem, putting Ryuki at a severe disadvantage. However, Ryuki seems to take it all in stride, getting more formidable with each attack. I wonder . . . is it her Quirk, or her fighting spirit?' Hiroto watched with a smile on his face as Ryuki extended her wings and flew at her two opponents taking swipes with her claws and attempting to strike Terra with her tail.
While Ryuki focused most of her attention on Terra, who was able to dodge most of the attacks thanks to her speed, Yusei saw an opening of his own. With a smug grin on his face, he formed a pair of pixelated whips in each of his hands. When her back was to him, he shot thee whips at her tail, ensnaring it. "A sneak attack? How creative! Good job, Yusei, though you're gonna have to do better than that!" Ryuki extended her tail even more, ramming into Yusei and causing the whips to snap in a flash of pixelated light.
Osen was trying to focus on the fight, but she found her attention drifting from the gym floor to the young man standing beside her. Hiroto was completely enthralled with the fight, granting the girl an opportunity to admire him undetected: his piercing green eyes locked intently on the action, his messy black hair adding to his charm, the childish smirk on his face betraying his excitement for the match. Her mind drifted back to the entrance exam, where those same features came rushing to her rescue from the training Nomu. "He's exactly like the heroes from some of my fairy tales: the dashing rogue with a heart of gold who rises to the occasion to become a brave knight . . . a knight in shining armour."
"This is quite the fight, isn't it Osen?" Hiroto's voice snapped Osen out of her daydreaming. As she came back to the present, she realized that Hiroto was looking at her, an excited smile on his face.
"Oh! Y-yes!" she wrenched her attention back to the gym, hoping that the heat in her cheeks wasn't as noticeable as it felt. "I-it's . . . really s-something else."
Terra continued to dash around Ryuki's attacks, narrowly dodging bouts of fire. She managed to score a few hits herself, even though her main focus was holding Ryuki's attention to allow Yusei as many openings as possible. Despite all this, the dragon girl seemed to be getting even more pumped up despite the damage she had taken.
