Chapter 14 : The Last Dance

Alaric's Apartment

Klaus/Alaric opens the closet and takes out 2 shirts. Katherine and Daniel are tied to a chairs. "Oh! Who is this guy, Safari Sam?" Alaric/Klaus asked rhetorically. He shows the shirts to Katherine and Daniel. "Okay, bad, or badder?" He asked them. "The dark colors suit you better." Daniel said. "Oh, thank you, my friend. Okay, pop quiz. The dagger and white ash are in the Salvatores' possession, correct?" He asked the couple. "The dagger was used to kill Elijah. You'll find him in the basement of the Salvatore house." Katherine told him.

"Okay, that dagger needs to stay exactly where it is. The last thing I need to do is resurrect Elijah. Oh, that guy is a buzzkill." Alaric/Klaus said. "For once we agree." Daniel said. Alaric/Klaus couldn't help but show a smile. "Don't forget you're on the outs with your girlfriend Jenna." Daniel also said to him. "Right. Elena's aunt. For all the lies about Isobel. What else?" He asked the couple. "That's it." Katherine simply said. He gets closer to her and touches her face. She seems afraid. Daniel feels uncomfortable that he's really close to Katherine.

"Oh, so jumpy..." he said to her. "So when did you two get together?" Alaric/Klaus asked them. "The 20s." They said remembering the endless party which was the 1920s. "You know, if your gonna kill us, just do it. We've told you everything we know." Daniel said. Alaric/Klaus puts his hands on the armrests on Daniel's chair and looks him in the face. "You see, I believe that you believe that, but what would you not know? What could they be keeping from you? Hmm? Anything? Tell me." Alaric/Klaus compelled him. "They were trying to see if Bonnie could find a way to kill an Original without a dagger." Daniel said.

"Bonnie the best friend? I thought you said she didn't have her powers anymore." Alaric/Klaus said. "She doesn't or didn't. I don't know. You kidnapped us, remember? We're kinda out of the loop." Katherine told him. "Well, we'll have to get to the bottom of that." He said to them. "Please, just kill us Klaus, and be done with it." Daniel said to him. "And show her kindness? I've searched for her for over 500 years. Her death is going to last at least half that long." He said to Daniel. "I swear to god, you do that and I'll kill you in ways your twisted mind can't imagine." Daniel told him. "Is that a threat?" Alaric/Klaus asked him, curious with his confidence. "No, it's a promise. And one I intend to keep." Daniel told him.

Alaric/Klaus takes a single-blade pocketknife from his pocket, opens it, and holds it before Katherine. "want you to take this knife...And stab yourself." He compelled her. She takes the knife and stabs her thigh. "Now take it out." He said. She takes it out. Her wound heals. "Now while I'm gone, I want you to do that over and over and over again and if you get bored, switch legs." He told her. "Wait, what about me?" Daniel asked. He walked over to Daniel. "You are going to watch her and you won't be able to provide any comfort towards her or help her." He compelled him. "Where are you going?" Katherine asked him. "I'm gonna go lay eyes on my precious doppelgänger." He told her.

"Oh, don't look so glum, Katerina. The fun is just beginning. Again." He told her before leaving. Katherine stabs herself again and Daniel watches not being allowed to help.

Later

Katherine is still in the chair. Her leg has blood all over it. She still has the knife in her hand and Daniel is still watching, sadly. "Ah, you're right. This witch is all juiced up and aiming to kill." Alaric/Klaus said. "That's terrible." Katherine said. The warlock is in the kitchen. "We're gonna have to kill her, Maddox." He told the witch. "Do you think this Alaric guy has anything vintage?" He asked. "I saw him a leather jacket once." Daniel said. He looks at the shirts and sees that there's something under. He opens it and sees a lot of weapons to kill vampires.

"Crossbows, wooden bullets and automatics? Who is this guy, again?" Alaric/Klaus asked. "The local vampire hunter." Katherine said. "Ahh. Well, that explains the clothing." He concluded. Maddox holds out a glass of bourbon to Klaus "All I could find. Guy likes his bourbon." Maddox said to him. He gives him the glass. Alaric/Klaus takes it. "knew there was something about him I liked. There's a high school dance and I'm gonna need you to take out witch bitch." Alaric/Klaus said to Maddox.

"she has that much power, she can sense me coming from a mile away. I won't be able to get near her. You have to do it." Maddox told him. "In this body? I'm a haggard history teacher. She can easily hurt me. I mean, not me, Klaus me, but you know what I mean." He said. "Yeah..." Daniel said unsure. Both him and Katherine are listening to the conversation. "No witch could handle channeling that much power. It'll kill her. It would kill me. You just have to make her use it." Maddox explained to him. "You mean like provoking her to death?" He asked the witch.

"Won't take long. Just keep attacking her until it kills her. His body, Alaric's, will last longer than hers will." Maddox told him simply. "How? He's human." Alaric/Klaus said to him confused. "can help in that department. I can do a spell to protect you." Maddox told him. Alaric/Klaus looks at Katherine and Daniel. They lower their heads.
