Bright light engulfs us and thankfully it's not green. My vision begins to clear and I see a huge hall with lanterns on each side illuminating it. This place looks like it was made to spook the guests out. The hallway opens to a large hall and to the very end of this hall stands a tiny beautiful middle-aged woman. She stands with her eyes closed and her arms clutching her head. But she made even that pose look peaceful.
She wears a long deep green cloak that swept the floor. Her long dark blonde hair spilled out of her bandana with strange symbols on it. It felt odd seeing her hair being suddenly of a different colour instead of green. She slowly opens her eyes revealing the most beautiful yet rare color of eyes I had ever seen. Her eyes were unmistakably bright purple. Her gaze falls on Lucas first and then on me. She smiles warmly at me.
"Alina, this is Karla." Lucas looks at me and points at the lady.
"It's Alyssa" I correct him.
"Umm no her name is Karla." He says, looking at me with a confused look.
"No my name is Alyssa, not Alina," I repeat.
"Isn't that what I said?" He says.
"Hey, mind if I join in?." Karla says we didn't even realize she was still standing there until now.
"Oh, I'm sorry I didn't....." I begin apologizing. This place was certainly bringing the bad side of me and I was definitely not liking it.
"Oh no no don't apologize, its okay. So what brings you two here?" she says smiling.
Jason starts to talk "well Alyssa here is a human but can hear us."
"Mm I see..." she says as she walks towards me. "What do you know about yourself?" She asks lifting up a pen from the wide table beside her, her eyes fixed on me. "I-I don't remember." She doesn't seem surprised at all by my reply but instead, she scoffs at me "Oh darling tell me something that I don't know about. For starters tell me about what you do remember. I can feel it. The air around you portrays confusion but also among that it gives hints of thoughts, your past." I raise my eyebrows on hearing the words of the frenetic woman but reply anyway.
"When I first found myself here I didn't remember anything about anything, nothing at all. I still don't know anything about who I was before I came here and where I lived but the weird part is I have started remembering the objects of wherever I came from."
"whatever that happened to you before you came here has completely distorted your memory into small bits like a puzzle which somewhat comes together when you touch something or think about anything related to it. However, the person who did this to you had no intention of erasing all the basic human things, common to everyone. And that is why you are now remembering those things."
She lifts a piece of my hair and sniffs it. Okay... where did Ms. Normal-lady go? She looks at me, no cut that she stares at me. I try my best not to run away but it was getting difficult by each second. She moves away and says "she's not a complete human.... She's something else. I can't point out what. Come here, dear." What did she mean by not human? Nonetheless, I go toward her.
I see her hand move from behind her curtain dress and she tugs on something and just like any other curtain, her dress gets separated into two revealing her thin frame. She wore something more normal inside, it looked like a jute bag stitched into overalls. it was better than the curtain but I never said it was pretty. She takes my hand and swings it in circles a few times. She closes her eyes and boom bright light emerges from my hands and her desk ignites on fire.
"See I told you she is not just a silly human."
