Cloud and Aerith were on the Fenrir heading for Healen Lodge. They were going to see Rufus. When they arrived, Cloud knocked on the door.
"Come in." Rufus said, slowly. Cloud gently opened the door. Rufus was sitting there.
"Ah. Cloud. How wonderful of you to come here." Rufus said. "Is that... Aerith?"
"Yes." Cloud replied. "It's a long story."
Cloud looked around. The lodge had tons of Shinra memorabilia. A framed picture of the Shinra logo, a SOLDIER 1st Class uniform, a poster of Midgar, alongside a poster of the recruitment ad for SOLDIER. He then looked back at Rufus.
"Why have you come here, Cloud?" Rufus asked.
"Barret told us that he helped build this place." Cloud explained. "I guess I came here from pure curiosity." Rufus chuckled, and looked around.
"You must've seen my Shinra memorabilia." Rufus said. "I know Shinra has done some horrible things in the past, but I just love the old stuff. Look, there's a SOLDIER 1st Class uniform. Like the one you once wore, hm?" Cloud looked at Rufus, then down to the floor and sighed.
"I never earned that uniform. You know that as much as I do." Cloud said.
Rufus nodded. "Although you were never an official member of SOLDIER, you still defeated Sephiroth. I believe that is definitely worthy of being called a SOLDIER. But, we must put SOLDIER behind us, and look to the future. You no doubt have a bigger fish to fry."
"Well, there is, but it's a long story." Cloud said.
"I have time." Rufus replied." It's not like I have anything better to do."
And Cloud explained the remnants of Sephiroth to Rufus, but Cloud didn't know that Rufus already knew.
