Storyline:
Algea spent the early years of their life fearing and avoiding humans. Many of their kind have gotten close to humans and never come back. Algea would have been content having never met a human before, but fate had other ideas. One night, a human was thrown into Algea's gulf, leaking red and unmoving. They knew enough about humans to know this meant it was probably dead, but Algea didn't want a human body just hanging around so they begrudgingly dragged the human to shore. Miraculously, the human was still alive and after realizing this, Algea promptly dived back into the sea. About a week later, Algea noticed an anchor near their home that led to a boat idling on the gulf. The boat was too small to be a fishing boat, and Algea could see light coming from it, and what sounded like someone singing. Algea was hesitant but decided to check out the boat anyway. There was only one human on the boat; the human they saved. The human's name was Captain Andromeda, she was a pirate and she had almost been killed by the British Navy until Algea saved her. Andromeda's crew came back for her and she was leaving for the Americas but she couldn't leave without thanking her rescuer. After getting back to her ship, Algea decided to follow Andromeda, something about the human infatuated them. Along the way, Andromeda's ship was attacked by what she had called the British. Knowing she wouldn't be able to get Andromeda to shore in the middle of the ocean, they enlisted the help of their Caribbean sisters in order to destroy the British ship. After the fact, they continued to follow Andromeda until she made it to a human port. That night, Algea saw the same small boat with the same singing. Knowing who it was, Algea approached the boat and once again came face to face with the human who they had helped twice now. Andromeda once again thanked them for their help and made them an offer: to join her crew and sail the seas forever. Algea was so taken aback, that they dived back into the sea and hid in an underwater cave until the next night when they heard the familiar singing. They felt they hadn't considered Andromeda's offer enough. They surfaced and accepted her offer before Andromeda could apologize. Joining Andromeda aboard the Silent Mary's Killer, she quickly became her first mate and the two slowly fell in love. Andromeda eventually retired from the pirate's life and retired to the coast side, and the two were able to live out the rest of their days together.
