About:
Early Life: Ivan was born into a relatively wealthy family in Russia with a loving mother, father, one older and two younger sisters. Once the Great Plague swept through Europe, Ivan's parents became desperate. They sent him to Romania to his uncle, hoping he would be safe from the plague. Once Ivan arrived in Romania, his uncle immediately caught the disease, causing him to go mad. Ivan was driven out of the house in the middle of a blizzard and took refuge in Castle Dimitrescu. He was immediately captured by the Lady of the House and was adopted by Alcina Dimitrescu and her wife Aleah.
The Four Lords: After spending a few months in the Castle, he was taken by Mother Miranda to become an "official member of the family". This included exposing him to the Cadou fungus, causing him to mutate into a half-snake monster. He learned magic from his new mother and became an expert in ice magic. He was tasked with luring villagers to the castle for food and was eventually awarded his own castle, but it came with downsides. He was forced to marry in order to "provide vessels" for Miranda to resurrect her deceased daughter. Ivan never played along, however, and "got rid" of his spouses as quickly as they came. Miranda eventually gave up but swore Ivan was never allowed to marry ever again. Ivan slowly began to detest the other lords as well as Miranda herself. Eventually, Ivan met his Aunt Emmeline and her adopted son Damien. Ivan and Damien didn't get along at first and formed a rivalry despite their mother's trying to get the two to bond. Their relationship eventually got better after Ivan routinely helped Damien out of his own messes and the two formed an almost brotherly bond. 
Resident Evil 8: Fast forward to the year 2020, and Ivan's life suddenly went sideways. While he was enjoying a vacation at his own castle, Mother Miranda managed to find a child worthy of becoming her daughter. The only problem was the child's father. Ivan was called back to take part in the ceremony when he arrived at Castle Dimitrescu however,  the Castle seemed have been robbed and there was no one in sight. The only was there was his mother Aleah, who was in complete hysterics. The child's father, Ethan Winters, went on a rampage looking for his daughter that Mother Miranda had taken. Aleah had been the only one to survive the ordeal; Alcina, their daughters and sons, the other lords, and even Miranda had died, along with everyone in the village.
The Dark Age: After the death of the family he's known for nearly three hundred years, Ivan spiralled into a deep depression. He spent almost a whole month in a drunken stupor until someone had to ruin it. That someone was Damien, who was sent to make sure everything was okay after Emmeline had been unable to reach her sister for weeks. Damien managed to console the two lost souls and led them to the realization there was nothing left for them in Europe. Ivan and his mother went to the US with Damien, both of them taking up residence in Emmeline's castle with her family. Ivan continued his depression there, unable to come to grips with his new reality. 
The Renaissance: After several weeks of self inflicted solitary confinement, Ivan allowed himself be dragged out by Damien to meet some semi-normal friends. Ivan was glad he left the house that day, as that day was when he met the person that would become his wife. Valerie Zimmerman came into his life and flipped it upside down in the best way possible. Ivan quickly found himself falling head over heels in love with them and they apparently felt the same way. After a few months of dancing around each other, the two started dating. The relationship was very rocky at first, turns out Ivan wasn't the only one who had a rough family dynamic. It took a lot of work from both of their families to get the two to communicate in a healthy way that didn't involve screaming matches. After all the wrinkles were sorted out, Ivan found himself wanting to marry this person, even though he was forbidden to marry again. However after years of dating Valerie and many discussions with them and his mother, he threw that into the wind and proposed; a year later, Ivan was married for the final time.
The Legacy: Ivan was finally enjoying life and it only kept going uphill. After five years of marriage, Valerie agreed to have a child. Ivan was overjoyed and less than a years later, their first daughter Nikita was born. Ivan dedicated himself to being the best father for Nikita; making sure she had the best education, the best teachers, and taught her a few things himself. His next child did not come along for another 14 years. While Nikita was out on her own, she came across a homeless orphan by the name of Kiran. Kiran had an interesting backstory that left her no family. It took very little convincing from Nikita for Ivan and Valerie to agree to adopting Kiran as their own. After raising both daughters, Valerie decided they weren't content with the mortal life and allowed Ivan to turn them to vampirism. With his immortal, happy family established, Ivan decided life wasn't so bad after all.
