"Everyone get down!" A men yelled, suddenly appearing out of the smoke wearing formal clothes - but holding a shield? Licia guessed he'd probably be Steve Rogers, or more formally speaking, Captain America. A blast of light blue light lit up the dark room, allowing everyone too see. The source of the blast was by a big red and gold robot looking thing - that must be Iron Man then, she thought."Step forward with your hands up!" This time Licia knew this voice, it was Colonel Rhodes, he spoke on TV a lot.
A dark figure emerged from the smoke and dust, Licia was unable to tell wether or not the figure was human. "Where meow?" They boomed, getting straight to the point. Their shadow quickly changed, shifting shapes and now, positions.
"Who?" Iron Man asked as he extended an arm.
"C- c" they stuttered struggling to find the words, "Ca- Cat!" They whined sounding as if they were on the verge of tears. Their voice was easily loud, almost electronic and their speech pattern was similar to a young child's.
"Okay well done! Now what does D-O-G spell?" Tony cooed, obviously taking the piss.
"Stop!" The figure yelled picking up a piece of debris and throwing it towards the superhero's general direction. He launched forward and caught it, mid-air, receiving a few screams and gasps from the high-class civilians.
"Get them out of here! Why aren't they out of here?" Tony asked looking around "Natasha, where's Natasha? Oh and the kid? Both of you get everyone out" he did something with his hand began to grow a bright white colour, a beam of light shot out of his hand and towards the figure. Somehow the heat of the shot reached Licia and she could feel it skimming past her face, the figure clearly felt it too because it easily dodged the beam of energy. Suddenly, the figure grew closer and more in height. It was like they were inhaling and absorbing all of the material, debris and glass around them and using them to gain power and size.
"Hey," she felt a tap on the shoulder and snapped her head around. She knew that voice, she was sure it was Peter, "are you alright?"
"Peter!" She exclaimed, "I swear I haven't had that much to drink, but I don't think this is actually happening" Licia said laughing at her foolishness.
"Who's Peter?' The voice asked, this time Licia realised it sounded nothing like Peter's, but she didn't care, a building was about to get shot up. They reached out a hand and she took it,
"Let's get you out of here and down to safety.." There was still a lot of smoke and dust about so she couldn't tell who his was.
The person grabbed on to her waist, "We are gonna run forward right now, do not stop running" Licia nodded. The two began to run forwards, towards the broken windows much to to her dismay.
"Oh my god!" She screamed as they ran, she couldn't stop. The floor had suddenly vanished and no-one was holding onto her. She was falling. And falling, and falling. It hadn't dawned on Licia yet but this could've been the end. She opened her eyes, only now just noticing what she was doing, the girl decided not to scream and just accept fate.
"Its alright!" They said, she felt the arms wrap around her torso again. Suddenly she was jolted upwards, still holding on to whoever had grabbed her. It was like the two were Tarzan and Jane swinging, from one skyscraper to another. No, no, no, she thought, mentally slapping herself.
"Spider-Man" Licia moaned.
"I can't really hear you, the wind's in my ears" he yelled back slightly laughing, as he glanced around looking for a building to land on. A flat roofed one was just ahead of him, he stretched his arm out and catapulted a web into the side and flew threw the air, girl at his side. Neither landed with a thump, in fact Spider-Mans landing was the loudest while Licia had landed rather, catlike, he thought.
