Shortly after the agents leave, the three scientists sit on the roof of the lab, their feet dangling off the side of the roof. They stare out into the small town of Puente Antiguo as Jane shakes her head while saying, "Years of research, gone."
Darcy dejectedly adds, "They even took my iPod."
They watch a car drive by as Erik asks, "What about the backups?"
The college intern looks over at Jane, who shakes her head as she replies, "They took our backups. They took the backups of our backups. They were extremely thorough."
Darcy tucks her hair behind her ear when it blows into her face as she says, "I just downloaded, like, thirty songs onto there."
Erik looks over at Darcy, who looks back out into the town as Jane rolls her eyes and scolds, "Could you please stop with your iPod?" The older scientist looks back to the street as Darcy tucks more hair behind her ear. Jane shakes her head and pauses for a moment before she asks, "Who are these people?"
Erik looks back over at Jane before he informs her, "I knew this scientist." Jane and Darcy look over at him as he continues, "The pioneer," Jane looks away and tucks a strand of hair behind her ear before she looks back over at the older scientist, "In gamma radiation. S.H.I.E.L.D. showed up and um... he wasn't heard from again."
Jane shakes her head and insists, "They're not gonna do that to us." Darcy looks back into Puente Antiguo as Jane nods her head, "I'm gonna get everything back."
Darcy looks back over at Erik, who tries to reason with Jane, "Come on, please. Let me contact one of my colleagues. He's had some dealings with these people before." Erik looks away as he continues, "I'll email him and maybe he can help." Erik looks back over at Jane, who is no longer looking at him.
Erik looks away once more before Darcy tells him, "They took your laptop, too." Jane looks over at Darcy as Erik meets the eyes of the college intern. Without another word, the three of them look back out into the town before them.

Later on that day, Jane sits in the RV outside of the library as she waits for Erik to finish emailing his colleague. The astrophysicist looks at the people walking around the street before she notices Thor as he walks into a pet store called, Pet Palace. Thor walks through the open doors of the pet store and marches up to the curly haired man working behind the counter as he exclaims, "I need a horse!"
The man slowly looks up at the blonde prince before he informs the Asgardian, "We don't have horses. Just dogs, cats, birds..."
The curly haired man trails off as Thor speaks up once more, "Then give me one of those large enough to ride."
Jane drives the RV down the street before she reaches the pet store. The astrophysicist stops the RV in the middle of the street as she honks the horn to get Thor's attention. She opens the window before she calls out to the blonde prince, "Hey, you still need a lift?" Thor turns around and catches sight of Jane sitting in the RV. He walks off to the vehicle and climbs into the passenger seat before Jane drives off, heading to the crater in the desert.
