12:20 PM.

Ness and company reached his front door. They went inside.

"Oh, Ness! I see you have brought some friends along!" his mother smiled cheerfully, "And they've even brought their stuff, too? Are you boys planning a sleepover?"

"Er, yes, I suppose..." Jeff responded.

He then mumbled to himself. "Maybe for a night, maybe for forever..."

"Ness, are those boys from Winters? Oh, I love Winterrians! Winterrians have such cute accents! When I was young, I used to date a bloke from those parts, erm... what was it? Oh, yes! Autumn Falls! Lovely place, nice food, nice..."

Ness stopped listening.

'Dammit, mom. Why'd you have to be so happy when I'm in the worst mood possible...'

"Uh, alright, mom! Thanksforlettingusknowbyeeeeeeee!"

Ness dragged Jeff and Tony upstairs to his room and shut the door.

"Alright. How the hell are we gonna settle this?" Ness stood in front of the two, sitting in the floor.

"I will not sleep next to him... nor the same room as him," Tony clarified, scowling at Jeff.

"Sorry, Tone, but this is the only place you can sleep. Unless you want to sleep outside in the freezing cold..." Ness laughed.

"You are speaking as if I do not come from bloody Winters..."

"Okay, sheesh. No need to get so mad over a joke."

"Do you seriously think this is a joke?!" Tony lashed out, "This...thing...!" He points at Jeff, looking down in shame.
"This thing literally assaulted someone and we are probably on the goddamn run! The police have probably found Miss Snidely by now!"

"We can't be so sure... can we?"

Outside, a voice yells.

"NEWS DELIVERY!"

The newest issue of The Onett Optimist flew out the window, breaking said window and hitting Ness square on the head.

"Gah! He should be careful with that, man!" He shook his fist like an old man.

Both Tony and Jeff giggled in unison, but stopped, looked at each other and glowered.

"Harrumph!" harrumphed Tony and Jeff in unison, again.

"What's in the news, anyway?"

As soon as he looked at the first headline he saw, he stuck his tongue out in worry.

'HEAD DISCIPLINARIAN IN WINTERS BOARDING HOME 'PUNCHED REPEATEDLY TO NEAR-DEATH''

Jeff looked at Ness' worried face and said, "The article is about me, is it not?"

Ness guiltily nodded. He didn't want to Jeff to go to prison or even worse, be executed.

The country of Winters, while remote, has a diligent police force and may be able to find a suspect guilty just from 2 hours of eyewitness testimonies and scanning the area for fingerprints. Since the country is so small, they have one centralised police station in the more urban area in the north-west.

"Let me read that," Tony ordered, snatching the newspaper out of Ness' hands, "'The suspect, 15-year old Jeffrey Eric Andonuts..."

Jeff looked down at his hands in horror. He wasn't the strongest guy in his year group; he was actually one of the weaker ones, yet... he did not know his fists could do that damage. Besides, he seemed like too much of a polite fellow to resort to violence right off the bat, even after years of torment. It seemed kind of... dubious that he was a suspect.

On the other hand was Ness. He was shamefaced and felt extremely bad for Jeff. He realised that he inadvertently trapped Jeff in deep shit and there was no way he could get him out. Besides, who would believe that he possessed him using MAGIC? Even if he did say that, they would just lock him up. The only reason he did what he did was to protect Jeff and now, he was probably going to be locked up.

He didn't know who to turn to. Then, he remembered... two people.

One was a father; a friend's father. The other was a cousin; Ness' cousin.

A/N... Hey, so I just wanted to say something. You know how I said in an announcement that I'd release this chapter on the 26th? How about no?!

I just really wanted to release it as a Christmas present just to say 'thank you' for reading (even if most of my reads is just me checking my work and saving changes lol). However, I DEFINITELY will not release a chapter on the 26th since I need a tiny break (wait till i break this promise).
