Paula knew she couldn't use PK Teleport, so she went downstairs and told her mother she was going out. She went to Ness' house.

Since the path to Onett was almost always closed, she went through the large forest next to it. It was beautiful to walk through during a nice summer day, where the celadon leaves became emerald-coloured as one approaches Onett.

However, there weren not any overt footpaths one can walk down so if you needed to go through, you would definitely have to watch your step as there could be stray stumps, crows and somehow alive mushrooms. And trying to go through the forest (being dizzy as hell, might I add) is very hard, perhaps impossible.

In spite of the challenges, Paula would go through whenever she wanted to talk to Ness. This day, July 13th of 1996, was not going to be the last time she'd do this.

After going through the forest with many doses of PK Speed up, she finally got to the southeastern fields of Onett.

The town had changed quite a bit in the years since their adventure.

In the east of Onett was a shiny new stadium used for baseball, as the town team, the Onett Strikers, got promoted to the largest baseball tournament in the country, the Big Eagleland Baseball League (BEBL, commonly pronounced as 'bebbil'). This was the main tournament in Eagleland, the secondary tournament was called the Small Eagleland Baseball League (SEBL) to contrast to BEBL.

While Ness legally couldn't play in the main league until he was 17, he was definitely on his way. He was the captain of his high school's team. Thanks to him, Davis Onett High School won back-to-back for the last two years. It was named after Davis Onett, the founder of the town. Interestingly enough, he was cousins with the founders of Twoson, Threed and Fourside, also known as the Founding Fathers of Eagleland; James Twoson, Keith Threed and A. Squér Häz Fourside, respectively.

Paula stood by the bus stop, despite being only around 100 metres away from his house and not needing a bus at all. She thought for a moment.

About Ness.

'Ness.

He grew up a lot. He's the same Ness I knew before, but I know something in him has changed... just slightly enough for me to notice. The phone call... I remember how he sounded so awkward , stuttering a lot. It's kinda cute...'

She giggled to herself, which creeped out the man sitting at the other end of the bus stop shelter.

'If I'm honest... I missed talking to him. He was so kind. He's also kinda hot-'

"No! No! No way! Nuh-uh!" Paula shouted, banging her hand on her forehead repeatedly.

The man sitting on the other end walked away, very uncomfortable.

Paula's face turned as red as the ribbon she was wearing.

"I shouldn't... think like that. Should I?"

She looked over at Ness' house and was in for a shock!

There were two Nesses and another Paula?! Oh yeah, and a slightly different Jeff, but still!

She was freaked out, assuming the worst.

"Ness?!" she called out.

Ness looked over at Paula and gasped.

"P-P-Paula?!" he replied, pointing at her.

Everybody turned to her. Ana was surprised.

"Er... hello?"

"Hello? Who are you?"

"I'm Ana Frost. And you?"

"Paula Jones. And who's that next to you?"

Ninten looked away awkwardly and waved.

"H-hi. My name is, uh... Ninten... Ceferino. Uh, sorry."

'I can tell he's related to Ness...'

"And I'm Lloyd Schild! We're from America!"

"Really?" Paula questioned, intrigued.

"Yep...!" Ninten replied, "This place looks exactly like Podunk, but a lot bigger!"

"Why don't all of you come inside? Maybe we can talk about stuff and drink some soft drinks," Ness said, opening the door to its greatest extent, allowing everyone to come in.

"Not for me, though!" Lloyd interjected.

A/N: Hey, gamers! I just want to tell you where I got those surnames from!

(Ana) Frost - Based on how she lives in Snowman, I thought it was very fitting

(Paula) Jones - I think in Japan, Paula or her father's last name is Jones. I personally think her mother's former surname is Polestar so her full name is Paula Polestar Jones.

(Ninten) Ceferino - Derived from 'Zeferino', which in turn is related to the Greek 'Zephryus', the name for the Greek god of the west wind. The reason I came up with this one was because I couldn't think of anything else other than something to do with air because Ninten's asthmatic. I know, I know... it's morbid, but it sounded cool.

(Lloyd) Schild - Comes from German 'Schild', meaning 'shield'. Honestly, I thought it sounded perfect for Lloyd, as he always shields himself from others in order to not get bullied at school. This is perfect in my opinion.

Anyway, this is the end of Chapter 9!

See ya on the double digits!
