A blond woman working at the mill approached her, shock present on her face. "Jade? Is that really you?"
"It's been a while Gerdur!" She smiled at her.
"A while!" Gerdur scoffed. "After you're parents died, you vanished into thin air. You didn't even send letters! What have you been doing all these years?"
"Well..." She didn't think Gerdur would take I became a thief and assassin very well. "After Ma and Pa died...It was just hard staying here, so I went north and got a job at Nightgate Inn."
"Fourteen years, Jade! Ralof and I haven't heard from you for fourteen years! Do you know what happened in that time? The whole town had a funeral for your parents. Camilla and Lucan Valerius took over the family business. Sven became a bard.
Alvor has a daughter. I have a son! Hadvar and Ralof joined the war effort!"
"Hadvar and Ralof joined the war? Are they on the same side?"
"Ralof's a Stormcloak, but Hadvar...that traitor became an Imperial soldier." She snarled.
"What's worse is that I heard rumor's of Ulfric being captured, and the Imperial's are heading through Helgen soon."
"Helgen? That's near here...I'll go check it out and report back to you if anything interesting happens." Jade swiftly turned towards the south road, before feeling Gerdur tug on her braided hair. "Ow!"
"Wait, if you see Ralof there...please...just don't do anything stupid, alright?"
She nodded and sprinted down the road. As soon as she arrived she felt a strong gust of wind and heard a loud roar. A giant, black creature, flew away threw the sky at an incredible speed. The town was burned and in ruins. Jade pushed open the gate. Charred corpses were scattered about.
