Chapter 37- 3 weeks ago

"I want to play the piano for him on our anniversary!" You told your dad.

"Why would you want to do that. You can just gift him a painting. It's what you're good at, and I'm sure he will appreciate it too."

"I just want to do something special for him. And he already knows i paint dad." You said rolling your eyes and groaning. "I'll start practicing the Piano secretly." You said, sounding determined.

Everyday after school you go home because Levi drops you off, but after bidding him goodbye you run to a place where a teacher helps you play the piano.

Mikasa, your best friend is in on this too. You go for the past three weeks everyday after school, except the weekends. That's because Levi visits and stays over.

WEEK 1:

"I need help."

"For what?" Mikasa looks up at you from her book.

"Piano. Play. Me."

"Haha no." She says unfazed and looks back down to read her book. You stay standing still letting her know that you're serious and have no plans on backing down.

She looks back up to you, closes her book, and sighs. "You're serious?" You nod.

"It will take a couple of months you know."

"I just want to know one song."

"You're boyfriend knows how to play, go bother him."

"It's supposed to be a surprise for him!"

She sighs in defeat, "Okay, I know someone." You hug her and say your thanks. "You owe me one."

"Definitely. THANK YOU." You run away to your next class.

——-next day——

"Let's go" Mikasa grabs you by the hand.

"Where?" You ask with a lifted brow.

"The person who will teach you how to play the piano. Idiot."

"Oh right haha."

"Y/N?"

"Eren?" You both look at each other in confusion. "Eren knows how to play?" you ask as Eren shakes his head in response. "Unfortunately, I don't but unexpectedly, my mom does. So you're the person Mikasa said needed the help." I nodded as he smiled.

"Don't worry you're in good hands." He pats your shoulder and gives you a thumbs up as he tells you the address.

"Does Levi know about this?" Eren suddenly asks which makes Mikasa turn her head towards you.

You shake your head no as they sigh in sync. Although Mikasa knows already but she stilled sighed anyways. "Do you plan on telling him?" Eren asks.

"He'll know. It's a surprise for him." You give them both a closed eye smile.

WEEK 2:

"Hi dear! So you're the Y/N Mikasa and Eren told me about." Carla, Eren's mom, welcomes you in their humble home. Eren greets you with a wave of hello in their living room couch.

"Yes." You bow and excuse yourself inside. "I'm sorry to bother you with this. I just wanted to surprise someone later this month." you gave out a shy chuckle.

"I see." Carla looks at eren and back to you with a chuckle. "Don't worry dear I won't pry. Well to start off, I'm Eren's mother. Carla Jeager. You can call me Carla." She bows to show respect. "I already know that you are (Y/N) (L/N) so we don't need the formalities now, do we?"

"No no, please call me Y/N" You bow.

"Alright, Let's get on with what you want to learn then." She leads you to where the piano stands and you start learning with her.

WEEK 3:

"You're a fast learner my dear." Carla claps as you finished the song. "Thank you." You said as you give out a laugh after.

"Are you interested to learn more about the piano? I can teach you and take you in as my student."

"I'm sorry Mrs. Jeager but I'm going to have to gladly decline your offer about that." You bow, "I actually paint and I'm planning to continue it as a profession. And I actually have someone in mind who can help me if ever I wish to learn about the piano."

"I see..so why did you—OHH i see where this is going." She laughed and bid you goodbye. as you did the same. You feel as though you could pull through with this little surprise of yours. Hopefully wishing for Levi's appreciation. Though your hopeful wishing was not needed for he adores everything you do.
