About three quarters through the movie, Eva fell back asleep, so I texted Scarlett to just use her spare key and be quiet when she got here. I continued to watching the movie with Eva asleep in my arms. I hated being able to feel how warm her body was in my arms, so after about ten minutes of her sleeping I changed her into a big t-shirt of mine and some shorts. I got us back into bed and we stayed like that just waiting for Scarlett to arrive.

Now: In Lizzie's POV

The movie just finished and I decided to just turn the TV off and read some emails from work on my phone. About ten minutes into reading emails, I could hear the faint sound of the door unlocking, opening, closing, and then being locked again. I guess that means Scarlett is here. I I could hear her movements in the kitchen which sounded like some bags being placed on the counter.

I carefully moved Eva's body off of me and  kissed her head before walking out of the room. I walked into the kitchen to find Scar taking things out of the bags.

'Hey.' I said announcing my presence.

She turned around and smiled at me, 'Hi.' She took in my appearance for a moment before giving me another sadder smile. 'How are you holding up? Sick kids can be a real drainer.'

I laughed lightly at her statement before walking closer to her, 'Ok, I guess. It definitely hurts to see her in so much pain. She's been on and off crying and her headache seems to be turning into a migraine. So, we're not doing so hot over here.'

'Ah, that's awful. And the fever?' She questioned.

'Pretty constant. I'm hoping the medicine you brought will help it drop.'I told her truthfully.

'Yeah, but how about you? How are you doing?' She asked looking directly into my eyes.

I sighed, 'Honestly, I'm so exhausted with the constant worry and guilt of her not feeling well. I just don't know what to do anymore.'

She walked over and hugged me close, 'Yeah, I get it. But, trust me when I say you're doing a great job. Better than most for a sick kid.'

I nodded my head and hugged her back before we released each other.

'Thanks, Scar. You have no idea how much you are helping me right now.' I gave her a small smile.

She smiled back, 'Anytime. Hopefully it won't be considered just helping next time.'

I nodded knowing exactly what we meant, but that was still a conversation I or we would have to have with Eva.

'Alright, why don't I finish playing up lunch while you get Eva.' She suggested.

'That sounds great. I'll be right back, and I think she's still excited to meet you even if she's sick. The twins were telling her all about you yesterday before they left and
, this morning, she even made me continue the tradition of watching We Bought a Zoo when someone's sick.' I explained to her.

She smiled at my statement while I left back to my bedroom to get Eva. I found her curled up with my blanket ,that I'm pretty sure she has claimed as hers now, in the same spot I left her. I smiled at the sight before walking over to her and waking her up gently.
