Luna's POV

I woke up with a pounding headache. Fuck, what the hell happened. I scanned my memories for the answers. After a minute, i realised I took most of my pills I got from Pablo. That probably wasn't a good idea, I feel like I've been hit by an bus. Fuck, I was so stupid. I didn't even ask what drug it was. Hopefully I will never have to take them ever again.
I observed my wounds, making sure they hadn't bled to much but to my surprise my bullet wounds had been bandaged. Did I do that?

I was about to go flush the drugs down the toilet when I saw Billie Eilish on my chair. What the hell was I doing while I was on drugs. My memory is completely blank, but I'm guessing I went to visit her and she must have brought me back here and bandaged my injuries. Why would she have stayed her overnight though? She's probably gonna tell me that I've been fired.

Oh fuck. Of course I'm going to be fired. There's her no way her parents will let her bodyguard be some useless druggie. I guess I broke the one rule I made for myself. Never get attached.

To distract myself from the inevitable news I started cleaning up my apartment, being careful to not wake up Billie. She looks exhausted, and even if this is likely the last time I'm ever gonna see her, I'm not gonna disrupt someone so peaceful.

After my apartment was all clean (well, as clean as it was going to get) I decided to make some pancakes for Billie when she gets up. I had no idea what kind of food preferences she has, so I might as well make them vegan to be safe.

As I plated up the newly made pancakes, I heard a soft groan coming from the corner. I looked up to see a groggy Billie. "Morning." I said awkwardly.

"Hey. What smells good?" She responded. Fuck, her morning voice is so hot. She got up and went to the small table where a placed the pancakes.

"I uh made you some pancakes as thanks for staying with me last night." I mumbled nervously.

"Sorry, I don't want to reject the food you made me but I'm vegan so." She started  apologising but I interrupted.
"Oh, I actually made them vegan. I wasn't sure what food preferences you had so I just decided to go vegan to be safe." I said. As I finished, a smile of familiarity fixed itself on Billie.

"You know, I did the exact same thing when I brought you the bean burritos yesterday" she said.

With that, I smiled to. Although I knew I was getting fired soon, I really enjoy billies company, so I savoured the time we had left and ate the pancakes with her.

After me and Billie finished, I decided to get right to the point. "So, you don't have to pay me for yesterday and I'll make sure you will still remain protected. I can even pay for the first year of your best bodyguard so you don't need to-" I babbled on, before being interrupted by Billie.

"Wait what? Are you quitting?" She asked sadly.

"No? I thought your were firing me?" I questioned. Why wouldn't she fire me? There's no way she could think I could guard her after last night. Why would she even want to be around me anymore.

"Why the fuck would I be firing you?" She queried.

"Well, I came back to you fucking drugged for starters. And even if that wasn't enough to scare you away from me, there's no way your parents would let you hang around with some druggie!" I exclaimed.

Billie seemed to pause at this "I didn't tell my parents about you being drugged because I don't believe you are a drug addict. There must have been a test for drugs during your bodyguard training. And I honestly don't thick of you as someone who had been using drugs." She confessed before pausing and continuing. "Why did you take the drugs?"

I hesitated. There was no way I was going to tell someone I met yesterday my entire life story, so I just decided to tell her the short story.

"Well after I dropped you of at your house, my friend picked me up and stitched up the knife wound. She kinda brought up some bad memories for me, and I guess the drugs are a coping method. But I am so sorry for doing anything like that while I was supposed to be protecting you. And I don't deserve your forgiveness. So if you want to take up my you can. If not I will promise to protect you for however long you wish." I promised. I probably rabbled a bit then, but it was my responsibility to give her my honest reply. I feel so bad, she was probably still in shock after her near murder. I should have just listened to Billie and went to the hospital. I'm just so stupid.

"Your not stupid." Billie stated. "And I would like you to be my bodyguard. You fucking saved my life after all. But I need you to promise me that you won't do any more drugs."

"I promise." I said.

"Good. I'm glad your better then the last bodyguard my parents hired. He got scared of by a few fans. And quit the next day." She laughed

"Fuck off. There's no way, by a few you must mean like 10,000 fans. I would understand if he underestimated his job and got scared at the massive task." I stated

"I'm not joking. He always portrayed this serious fearless persona but there must have been at most 3 fans and he got so scared. It was hilarious." She laughed.

With that, the mood was instantly lightened and as much as I would like to keep it like this, I had to be serious. I promised Billie I would protect her for as long as she wanted me to and for me to do that I have to be professional. That means I can't be her friend, just her bodyguard. Even if it kills me to do so.

"We should get you back to your parents. They're most likely worried about you after you decided to stay the night here." I suggested.

After the short walk back to her house (which Billie said was a lot easier then when she brought me back here last night), we finally arrived.

"Ah Billie you found her. Thank you for saving my daughter." Some guy said, whom I guessing is billies father.

"No problem sir. I'm just doing my job. Although, it was my fault she was even in that situation to have gotten hurt, I should have got her out of there immediately. For that you have my apology." I apologised.

"Oh fuck off Luna. Theres no way you would known that would happen. Stop apologising." She exclaimed.

"Billie can you stop swearing so much." Billie's mother asked.

"Fuck no." She retorted.

"Uh, it's getting quite late.  Here's my phone number. If you or anyone in your family needs help you can phone me any time." I announced to Billie before leaving.

I arrived at my apartment a few minutes later. I hate having to push Billie away, but it's for the best. This job is so different from my normal ones. Normally I would only do jobs for 1 to 3 days then move onto the next, but this seems permanent. I went to my bed, rolling a small black pearl in between my hand. I guess I'm just going to roll with my new situation. I guess there's no way out of it.

For a second, I rolled up my sleeve and observed the scars on them before rolling it back down. I'm not going back to that again. I can't believe I even thought of it. I guess I just need some sleep. I closed my eyes and waited for the sleep to take me.
