Billie's pov
Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck. I can't believe this is actually happening. Luna was meant to come to a meeting with me an hour ago. I know I'm probably over reacting, but she's normally so punctual. Although I've always wanted to be her friend (or maybe something more) rather then a bodyguard, but she was so persistent on protecting me it was hard to talk about anything else. She's been like that ever since the encounter we had the first day we met.

And that was exactly the reason I'm worried, she would never be this late. I sent one more text to her, indicating my worry in an attempt to get her to contact me. I'm going to feel really stupid if I'm wrong though.

My worst fears were confirmed as Luna sent me two single letters. zx.

Immediately, I checked the location app Luna made me install, seeing her location was about 5 minutes away. I sprinted out the house, ignoring the barks of pepper at my sudden movement. I guess my fear of her being dead wasn't so far off. I arrived at the location, turning round the corner to see Luna draped onto the floor of some dingy alley.

"Luna!" I shrieked, before running over to her. I was panicking. Should I just pick her up. But what if i hurt her. Shit i should have gotten here sooner. I should have looked for her as soon as I realised she was late. I knew something was wrong. Fuck! Why didn't I listen.

"Hey hey hey, don't panic. The nearest hospital is 3 minutes away, just pick me up and keep me awake until you get there." She soothed. How on earth is she so calm right now! I observed her body, taking in all the blood and bruises that were visible. I picked her up, trying to be gentle to avoid her any more pain. I decided to listen to her directions.

As I got into the hospital and ran up to the hospital desk.

"State your name and the name of the person you are with, as well as the reason you are here and we will tend to you shortly. If you have any questions ask someone else." The nurse  said, clearly bored with her job.

"Shut the fuck up. My girlfriend needs help and you are going to fucking help her. Now!" I snapped, completely missing my slip up. The nurse, terrified, quickly dialled the doctor, who immediately came in to get Luna.

"Has she closed her eyes since the concussion?" He questioned, wheeling her into emergency care.

"I don't think so." I stammered.

"Good. Stay in here and wait until we bring her out."
The doctor said, before entering the emergency section.

I wanted to barge in there and see, but I decided to wait as to not distract them. It was about an hour later when I heard some results.

"The patient had some major injuries that we stitched up or bandaged. She had a concussion but it was pretty mild so it isn't that much of a problem. You can see your girlfriend now, she's in room 254." He stated, before pointing in the location and walking off.

"Girlfriend!?" I shouted, clearly surprised. I was about to ask what he meant, but he walked away before I had the chance.

Ignoring what just happened, I headed to Luna's room. "What the fuck are you doing up?" I asked after seeing her up. "You should be resting." I suggested.

"Ah, I've been though worse. How long do they reckon I'm staying in this bed?" She asked, clearly irritated by her current position.

"You should be In here about two weeks. After that, you must pay your 234 thousand dollars in medical bills, then you are free to leave." He stated with a smirk. At the mention of money, I watched as Luna's face contorted in pain. Noting that down to ask later, I decided to deal with the problem at hand.

"The fuck? There's no way it costs that much. You didn't even need to do any surgery." I snapped.

He was about to respond but was interrupted.

"If i leave the bed today will that lower the price at all?" Luna asked.

"What? No Luna. Don't fucking worry, I'll take care of the bills for you so" i assured, but was interrupted.

"Will it lower the price!" She snapped.

"Uh, I'm sure I could knock off an extra 10k of sure but-" he stammered.

With that she hopped of the bed, seemingly ignoring all her injuries as she headed of. Immediately I ran after her, catching up quite quickly due to her injuries.

"Hey, I'll pay for it you just need to worry about healing up, ok?" I asked.

"No, I can't let you pay for it. It's my responsibility to do so." She defended.

"Ok, well your my bodyguard right? So any injuries you get it should be my responsibility to pay for." I persuaded her, but she was insistent on leaving today I had no choice but to go along with it. Sometimes she's just too stubborn for her own good.

"So do you know who attacked you in the alley? And why were you even in the alley in the first place?" I queried.

"I don't really remember anything. I was kinda beat up you know. I must've have uh... hit my head or something?" She said, although she was clearly lying about it.

"Bullshit. You really are a bad liar you know? I can tell and I've have barely known you for that long. If you don't want to tell me the truth you could just say so." I replied.

"It's just some people I used to know. Can you just let it go and stop bothering me!" She snapped, before speeding up her walking so she was in front of me.

I guess I pushed it to far. I can't seem to get anywhere with her, I thought we were becoming friends but anytime her past comes up she shuts me out. I know I'm probably just being nosy. I shouldn't try to bother her so much.

"Billie, look out!" I heard Luna scream, before my vision blanked out.
