Usually, I wake up late, very late. And usually, Lucas would be the one waking me up, but here I am.

Wide awake and early, but still in bed. I contemplated a bit whether or not I should wake Lucas up as I stared at his peacefully sleeping face.

Didn't know what to do, so I caressed his fluffy honey brown hair.

"Love, you look like you want to eat me." Lucas said as he opened his eyes with a mischievous glint and a mischievous smirk.

I was slightly shocked when Lucas suddenly spoke. Feeling my cheeks and ears warm, I stopped and just hid in the blankets, embarrassed from what he said.

"Aww, Love, it's alright to be embarrassed. But, are you sure you don't want to eat me?" He said teasing and mischief leaking from each word, as he cuddled me.

"Ugh... shut up!" My words were muffled from the blanket.

"You're so cute when you're embarrassed. Love, come out from there. I wanna see your face."

"Okay, I- I will go see if Devin is awake, while you go see if mom and dad needs help in the kitchen." I said, quickly leaving the room still feeling a bit warm.

...

"So, your mother and I thought it would be great if we'd all celebrate Christmas together. If it's alright with you Finn." Dad said while we were all eating breakfast.

"Oh, but if you don't want to then it's-"

"It's fine, mom. It's been a while since we celebrated Christmas together, and now we can celebrate it with Lucas and Devin." I said, which I saw mom let out a sigh of relief and gave me a smile.

"Did you hear that buddy? We'll be celebrating Christmas with your grandma and grandpa!" Lucas said as I heard Devin squeal with excitement.

"Christmas with grandma and grandpa!" Devin repeated excitedly, which earned a chuckle from both my parents.

After breakfast, we all just had a family outing. Mom and dad said that they planned today for little Devin, so that he wouldn't be stuck around in their house too much.

"Look Devin, we're here!" Mom said to Devin as Dad was carrying him.

"Where are we grandma, grandpa?"

"We're at a deer farm! We can go in and feed the deers!" Dad said.

"Reindeers?! We can feed Santa's reindeers!"

"Yeah, let's go!" Looks like dad was just as excited as Devin in seeing and feeding the deers.

Devin was having so much fun looking at the big deers and feeding the baby deers. So much so that, when it was time to go he started crying.

"Devin, buddy, we can visit again, you know?" Lucas said as he was carrying Devin back to the car.

"Can we visit tomorrow?" Devin asked, sniffling.

"Um, maybe some other time, okay?" I said, and Devin smiled and nodded.

We all went back and continued the day, going to different places and visiting tourist spots that are normally really crowded during the winter, but when we visited all of them were empty.

Everything went smoothly, we had dinner outside, we visited a lot of places, Devin had fun. It was a great day.

When we were driving back, it was already pitch black.

"Winter really is here, huh? The sun sets so quickly now, and the night becomes longer and longer." Mom said, as she looked out the car window, staring at the snow covered trees.

"Yeah, daytime is shorter and the nighttime takes longer but it's only for a short time. And before we know it, winter has already passed and there comes spring." I said, and my mom just smiled and agreed.

We went home a bit late, Dad is normally a fast driver, but he's careful when it's dark, and he's even more careful when Devin is in the car.

"Love, I was wondering, do you want to have dinner tomorrow?" Lucas asked as he was changing clothes while I was arranging some of my clothes.

"Of course, there's this one diner I want Devin to-"

"I meant just the two of us." Lucas said.

"Oh, well, I'll ask mom and dad tomorrow if it's alright with them to take care of Devin." I said as Lucas gave me a nod.

After tidying my clothes, I was about to sleep when all of a sudden I heard the abnormally loud thumping sound.

It made my head hurt. It felt like someone was repeatedly knocking on my head, because of this I couldn't stop my tears from falling nor the whimpers I let out.

Lucas heard that I was in pain, but I couldn't hear what he was saying, any words he uttered were muffled by the loud thumping.

He didn't know what to do, so he just took my hands to catch my attention. He motioned to follow his breathing, so I just followed along in hopes to calm down and maybe the pain will go away.

Then, a few seconds passed and the sound started to subside along with my headache which was a relief.

"Love, what happened?! Are you okay?!" Lucas asked a bit too loudly, because of this, my parents rushed towards our room.

"What's happening here?" Dad said as he opened the door.

"Honey, are you alright?!" Mom said, quickly entered the room as she saw me.

"I- It's fine, nothing happened. I was just- I was trying to reach for my clothes when it slid under the bed, and then I hit my head... really hard when I tried to get out." I said as I wiped my tears.

"I'll get the ice pack." Dad said.

"Finn, are you sure there's nothing else going on?" Mom asked, clearly showing that she's skeptical.

"Yes mom, and if you're thinking of something else then, you've got it all wrong." I said, reassuring her that it's not what she's thinking of.

I saw Lucas just standing near the corner, keeping quiet. Maybe he's shocked when

"Here's the ice pack, just apply it for a few minutes." Dad said, handing me the ice pack as I gave him a quick nod.

I told both of them to not worry, and just go back to sleep. I knew they were still worried, but I had to reassure them that I'm fine.

They were still worried, but they gave a smile and nodded, then went back to their room.

"Love, I think- maybe we should cancel tomorrow and go see... a doctor? You've been having these headaches a lot and-" Lucas started to panic talk. He's always like this when I get sick or feel unwell.

"Love, I'm fine. I think I'm just having really bad headaches. We can go see the doctor some other time after our dinner, okay?" The loud thumping just goes away after a few minutes, so I think I can handle it.

"Do you promise to go with me to the doctor for your checkup?" Lucas took both my hands and placed his forehead on mine, as he was staring directly in my eyes

"Yes, yes. I do." I chuckled and gave him a peck on the lips.

After convincing Lucas that we'll still continue our dinner, I just looked outside of our window, staring at the trees.

Today was supposed to be fun, but the abnormally loud thumping just ruined my day. I'm not even sure how tomorrow's gonna go.

"What if I cause more trouble for Lucas?" Were the only words that ran through my mind, before eventually falling asleep.
