I woke up from my sleep, hearing mom repeatedly knocking loudly on my door. I didn't know if the knocking was too loud that it made my head hurt, or if it was just the side effect of my pills.

I felt around the bed, it felt... colder than what I was used to. The room also looked larger and more dark than I remembered it being.

"Dear? It's time to get up. I know it- it's hard for you to get up, especially this time of year, but... you wouldn't want to make them wait, right?" She said, her voice a bit muffled from speaking behind the door.

I looked at the alarm clock, it was 10:36 AM, December 18, 2018.

"Y-yeah. I know w-what day it is today. I'll get ready in a few." Hearing my voice, it sounded awful.

"Okay dear, we'll wait for you downstairs. Don't take too long." Mom said.

After a few seconds, I got up from my bed and looked in the mirror. I only noticed then that there were tears.

I couldn't help, but remember that day. I can still picture it in my mind, smoke, shattered glass, and my bloody hands trying to wake them up. That was the day Lucas and Devin... slept too early.

...

We visited where Devin and Lucas were... sleeping. I let Mom and Dad visit them first.

"We're done talking with little Devin and Lucas." Mom said.

"We'll wait by the car." Dad said as they left me in privacy with Devin and Lucas.

I put the flowers down, and sat with them.

"Hey bud! Daddy's here! And- I- I brought the bunny plushies with me. I- I couldn't give this to you last time, so I brought it now. But, I- I'll take them back with me, okay? We wouldn't want to leave them in the cold, r-right? I'll bring them again next time, I'll bring them every year." Stuttering, I couldn't help but choke on my words.

"I miss you, my little Devin. Very much. Daddy Finn misses you. So. Much." I looked down and my voice started to sound smaller, almost whispering as I sniffled and held back my tears.

I looked at Lucas, my tears now falling, sniffling uncontrollably, and sobbing loudly.

"And, Lucas. My Love. I- I brought our rings. I hope you like them. For now, I- I'll keep yours with me, okay?"

"I miss you dearly. I miss you both so much, it hurts. Everyday, I can't help but think about you and little Devin. I love you. I love you both."

I tried to talk louder, but I couldn't control my tears and my sniffling. My voice was hoarse and sounded so small, so fragile that it could easily be muffled by other people's voices.

"But, I can't be sad forever, right? So, I'll keep my promise. I'll also promise to always visit and never forget. And one day, when the time comes, you'll be there both, waiting for me to welcome me."

After talking to them for a few more minutes, I stood up. Wiping the tears and calming myself, I smiled at them, blowing both of them a kiss, and waving one last goodbye before walking back towards the car.

As I stared at the snowy scenery , I knew that this negative feeling will go away, like this snowy season, this passing winter.
