Her head rested on his shoulder while there hands intertwined. It was the first time they have sat this close to each other, but any bits of discomfort was invisible. The rhythm of his heart beat brought a sense of security and the weight of her head reminded him that she is there.

Vihaan opened his mouth and broke the silence. " I have difficulty sleeping," he stated. Samaira lifted her head up to looking into his eyes with her eyebrows furrowed, but she nodded.
" I've had insomnia ever since I was little. When I moved away to live with my grandparents it got better, but when I came back I couldn't sleep in peace." He explained looking down.
" My family isn't what it seems Maira and nor is my life. It's always been complicated. There was always a weird distance between them, but I was never able to figure out the reason. At night I would feel so lonely almost as if all my family members will abandon me. My brother protected me as much as he could, but it was like I was fighting a war in my head. I used to go to school everyday distant from all the kids and extremely quite. Sleep was never easy for me. When my grandparents took me away my life changed." This time Vihaan turned himself towards Samaira looking at her with a slight smile.
" They were two people who taught me the biggest life lesson while giving me the sweetest of memories. My life became simple and happy Maira!" He exclaimed staring into her eyes, but his smile quickly broke. " Once I moved away though I lost it all again." Samaira took his hands in hers and rested them on her cheek.
" I don't know how to help you, but I promise I will try my best to do whatever is necessary to allow you to sleep in peace," she states almost like a promise while his eyes met hers.
He takes his arms and pulls her closers and she snuggles into him. Within a few moments she feel asleep in his arms while he watched her in awe.

The bright rays of the morning sun fell on Samaira's face through the kitchen window. Vihaan tilted his position to shield Samaira for the sun using his back. It gave him a better look at her features. Her soft honey colored skin gleamed in the sunlight. She looked like a little baby sleeping. Peaceful and quiet. Something he didn't get much of from her when she was awake he chuckled. She snuggled into him a little more and he could smell her vanilla scent.

He wanted time to stop right then and there. With her in his arms. Without having to worry about the explosion that will occur when she finds out the truth. Where they can be together with no complications.

He knew though that wasn't possible. Maybe it would have been if he hadn't lied. Maybe if he meet her as himself. As Vihaan. He could have explained the truth and they could have been together. Everything would have been normal. It was too late though. He knew Samaira enough to know her anger. In all honesty her anger would be justified. This wasn't a small white lie. It was a lie that could break them apart. It was a lie that could cause Samaira to break her promise. It was a lie that could break them and what they had together in a instant. The longer he waited the deeper the wound will be.
