Papers were spread out all over Samaira's table making it almost impossible to find anything. Samaira claimed the mess helps her think, but honestly she was just too lazy to clean it up. It's been about a month since she joined her family friend, lawyer Hughes law firm as an intern. She has not received anything that was even mildly interesting. Her good for nothing "boss" or senior Rahul hasn't been giving her anything, except shitty busy work he was too lazy to do.

"Please! Give me something useful to do!" Samaira practically begged Rahul.

" Fine I have a case, and I don't really have time to read up on it. Look through the file and give me a summary." Rahul instructed.

Busy work again Samaira thought disappointed as always.

" Ok where is the file Rahul?" She asked unenthusiastically.

" Samaira I am your senior! Learn to address me as sir." Rahul warned still absorbed in the file in front of him.

" You're only 2 years older than me... Stop overacting, where is the file?" She asked again bluntly.

"Over there," Rahul said pointing towards his cabinet.

She walked over and grabbed the dusty manilla colored file.

"So what is this case?" She asked Rahul, curious looking at the huge folder.

" If I knew why would I ask you to summarize it. Now leave my room! I have lots of work to do" Rahul replied snottily. Samaira huffed and left his room with the file walking back to her messy cubicle.

" Good Morning Samaira!" Ishaan her cubicle buddy greeted. Ishaan was a year senior, but he is her best friend at work. Everyone else was either much older or an asshole like Rahul.

" Good Morning Ishaan" She groaned.

" Rahul being a pain in the ass again?" He knew exactly what was wrong.

" I don't understand Ishaan. He thinks he is the shit. " She complained.

" Just leave it... There is no reason to spoil your mood, because of him." He advised like always.

" Yeah... Anyway what work do you have today?" she asked scooting her chair in and getting comfortable.

" I don't have any work today. Do you want to work on that together? He asked, pointing at the file in Samaira's hand.

" Yes please! Let's go to the lounge and work there." She said grabbing her stuff and getting out of her seat. Ishaan put his laptop in his backpack and walked with her.

The lounge wasn't like the images you see in movies. It was dark and had uncomfortable folding chairs around tables that have legs missing and could break at any given moment. Ishaan and Samaira sat at their regular table which was the farthest table near the only window in the room.

" What drink do you want?" Ishaan asked walking towards the ancient vending machine.

" Coke," she said sitting down. He grabbed a Coke for her and a Root Beer for himself and sat next to her. They opened the manilla folder to see the case of Asher Ford vs Vihaan Chauhan. It wasn't a case out of the ordinary. Two business partners who had issues with the company's goals and fighting for ownership.

" I guess we should get to work then," Samaira sighed.

" I'll do the write up. Why don't you call Mr.Chauhan and see if this case can be resolved outside of court?" Ishaan suggested while taking out his laptop.
