Deku pov:

Not gonna lie I really have no idea how i made it out first in the obstacle race. Dumb luck I guess.

"Congratulations to our winners!!" Midnight was back on the pedestal shouting at us with her weird whip in one hand. "Now! On to our next challenge! I know what it is but let's spin anyway!" the large board appeared once again spinning through the different possibilities of challenges we'd have to face. "Oh, what could it be? What could it be??" I saw Kacchan standing with slumped posture to my right. He seemed pissed. I turned my head slightly left and saw Todoroki standing with his hands in his pockets but he wasn't watching Midnight or the board, he was staring directly at me with his multicolored eyes. He also seemed pissed but in a different way. I couldn't hold eye contact and had to look away. He was so intimidating. More than Kacchan that's for sure, though I'd never tell him that he'd blast my ass.

"A human cavalry battle!!" Midnight yelled after the wheel had stopped spinning. I saw Todoroki turn and face his eyes deadset and unwavering. Damn. So scary.

"You will have fifteen minutes to form teams of two to four. Work together and find people who suit your quirks. Once the teams have been formed you will line up and prepare to battle. You can use any and all quirks. Oh! And each player will be awarded points based on the place they finished. Forty-second will have five, forty-first, ten, so on and so forth. First place has ten million!"

The crowd burst into a roar at the new information. Ten million?!? Oh god! I'm so fucked unless I can form a good team...

"You are to steal other players' headbands in order to win. The team with the most wins and moves on! You're fifteen minutes starts now! Form your teams and good luck!"

Students began scattering trying to form teams with which they stood a chance. I saw Mina, Denki, Kirishima, and Sero trying to convince Bakugo to let them on his team. I snapped out of my state of fear when Ochaco approached me.

"Deku! Let's make a team!" Her hand was in a fist and she bore a big smile.

"R-really? Everyone's gonna be going for me I don't want to ruin-" She shook her head and waved her hand. "Don't be silly! With my zero gravity and your brilliance in forming plans, I'm sure we can be great we just need two more players." She looked thoughtful, scanning the people around us.

"You guys looking for another member?" A girl with pink hair and a ton of gadgets had appeared behind us. "I'm Mei Hatsume! This could be perfect! You need another player and I need an outlet to show off my babies!" She babbled on and on about the gadgets that she'd made til Uraraka and I agreed to be on a team.

"This is great. With the three of us, we can have a pretty good strategy, we just need one more person who could bring the last bit of strength for defense." I thought for a moment before seeing Tokoyami standing alone. I walked up to him and put a hand on his shoulder.

"You."

The fifteen minutes was up quickly and the battle had begun. As we'd expected everyone came charging right at us. We were able to get away with the help of Mei's powerful rocket backpack. She's really talented at what she does I'm sure some business will notice her, they'd be stupid not to. We were doing okay defending and my plan to run away seemed to be working until Mineta's stupid ball damaged one of the rocket's boots. The air was no longer an option so it was time to double down and fight.

Todoroki pov:

I wasn't expecting Midoriya to come out on top like that. It really pisses me off. Something about him... I don't know but I don't have time to think about it. I have a cavalry battle to win.
