No doctors or nurses came into the room while I was awake. Nobody came to check up on us or tell us anything that was going on with Y/n. It was only May and I for right now, sitting in silence as we waited for someone, anyone, to tell us anything about Y/n's condition.
But they never came in.
Not until seven hours later.
May had fallen asleep and I was lost in thought, silent tears slipping down my cheeks as I curled into myself in the chair, not realizing one of the doctors had walked into the room.
I heard someone clear their throat from the doorway of the room. I jerked my head up and quickly wiped my face off as I looked to the doctor, repositioning myself into a sitting position before he started to talk.
"Are you Miss Y/l/n's family?" He asked.
Why the hell is he even asking that? I've been here the entire time. I fucking spoke to him both times he was in here.
"Yes; Peter Parker." I responded.
"I wanted to tell you myself..." He paused.
Get on with it, dumbass.
"Wanted to tell me what? Is she okay? Is she out of surgery yet?" I asked impatiently, my mind automatically assuming the worst.
"She is still in surgery. It's worse than we thought. She has severe internal bleeding that we didn't realize. How it is just now affecting her, I have no idea...She-She uhh..." He paused again.
"She what?" I asked, my voice raising a little as I grew even more impatient.
"She coded." He finished.
My heart dropped.
"But she's okay though, right?" I asked, tears filling my eyes.
"For now, yes. If it happens again, most likely not. We were able to stabilize her for the time being. She still has to endure aproximately another half hour of surgery before we can stitch her back up."
I let out the breath I was holding and placed my head in my uncasted hand, resting my elbows on my knees.
"Mr. Parker, there is a only 58% chance of her survival at this point. I would prepare for the possible worst right now. Would you like us to continue the surgery?" He asked.
Anger built up within me as his words ran through my mind. I aggressively pushed my hand through my hair before standing up and looking the doctor directly in his eyes.
"What the hell kind of question is that?!" I asked, almost yelling at this point.
"I understand it's a difficult decision to make. If you-" He started but I interrupted.
"No, you don't understand! It's not a fucking difficult decision to make! She still has, in my opinion, a high chance of survival! Why would I want to take that away and assume the worst?! What the hell kind of doctor are you?! THE ONLY REASON SHE'S IN THERE RIGHT NOW IS BECAUSE YOU COULDN'T DO YOUR FUCKING JOB RIGHT THE FIRST FUCKING TIME! NOW SHE'S PAYING THE PRICE FOR YOUR MISTAKES AND YOU WANT TO ASK ME IF I WANT TO PULL THE PLUG ON HER?! NO, I DON'T. GET THE FUCK BACK IN THE ROOM WITH HER AND DO YOUR FUCKING JOB BEFORE YOU'RE THE ONE WHO NEEDS A DOCTOR!" I shouted at him, getting inches away from his face and waking May up in the process.
She walked over and placed a hand on my shoulder, pulling me away from the doctor before I did something I would regret. I let out quick and heavy breaths as tears slid down my cheeks and I calmed down from my outburst.
The doctor shot me a glare before walking out of the room. How I didn't alert security, was a mystery to me as well.
I ran my hand down my face and back up to my hair before backing against the wall and sliding down it.
"May..." My voice croaked out as I once again began to have a mental breakdown of the floor of the hospital.
She walked over and sat next to me, placing her hand on my back and rubbing it up and down to comfort me. Sobs racked through my shaking body once again as May pulled me into her arms and I cried into her shoulder.
"I don't want to lose her." I found myself saying again, over and over as May continued to rub her hand up and down my back.
"Shhhhh. It'll be okay." May whispered.
"You don't know that." I let out another sob and sniffled.
"I don't. But she's in the best hand she can be in, right now."
"No she isn't. That doctor is a dick. I don't like him." I mumbled.
I pulled out of May's embrace and she wiped my tears away with her thumbs while she let out a slight laugh. My breathing returned as close to normal as it was going to get and my heart rate did the same. I was still shaking but I wasn't sobbing like a baby anymore.
"I could tell by all the yelling." She laughed.
"Sorry for waking you up like that." I apologized.
"It's okay, Pete. I know what it's like to lose someone you love."
A tear slid down her face and she quickly wiped it away before standing up and pulling me up with her.
"You need to eat something. You haven't eaten anything within the entire time I've been here." She told me.
"I'm not hungry." I muttered.
"I know for a fact that is a lie. With your powers you eat twice as much as a normal teenage boy, so right now your starving. I'm going to go get us something to eat. Will you be okay for a few minutes?"
I nodded sheepishly. She placed a kiss on my forehead before grabbing her purse and leaving the room.
Okay, Peter, it's only a half hour before she's out of surgery. She can get through this. She'll be okay. She will be okay, right? God, Y/n, please be okay. I can't lose you too. I care about you too much to lose you too. Please, be okay.
