Upon arriving back at the compound, Izuku received a long winded lecture from Toga about self preservation, which she noted, he seemed to have none. When she had finished her rant, he was ushered back into bed and handed a few more painkillers, seeing as he had popped his stitches and nearly died the night before.
"How mad is he?" he asked after washing the pills down with some water.
Toga sighed as she took a seat at the end of his bed, leaning back against the frame. "Hard to say. He had that whole 'so pissed I'm calm' thing going on."
He winced at that. That was never good. "Think he'll retear my stitches?" he asked with a humorless laugh.
"Shut up," the blonde gently snapped. "I don't want to think about that."
Izuku nodded in understanding, even he didn't want to think about it. It was just something he had to.
Toga physically shook off the heavy atmosphere and slipped an evil smile onto her face. "So, how was lover boy, then?"
Izuku shook his head at the crush crazed girl, but there was the smallest of smiles on his lips. "He was... he was good."
"As good as you remember?" she asked him in a teasing manner.
He responded just as jokingly, "Better."
Toga let out a high pitched squeal and hit Izuku's shoulder, being mindful to be gentle about it. "I'm dying to meet him, Izuchan. You have to take me with you soon," she pleaded, looking at him with her best puppy dog eyes.
Puppy dog eyes were something Izuku hadn't thought he was affected by, but he was sorely mistaken. After meeting Hina and Toga... yeah, he folded for those eyes in seconds.
In the same playful manner, he narrowed his eyes at her. "Only if you don't try to steal his blood."
She pouted with a groan, but eventually stuck her hand out for a shake. "Deal!"
Izuku took it with a small laugh, confirming their deal with a steady handshake.
It was strange to think about, the fact that two months ago he had never had a friend before and now he seemed to have two. Or at least one and... and, well, whatever the hell Sero was to him. It was a little terrifying to think about how much his life had changed since ending middle school.
Nothing to do now but roll with the punches, Izuku thought. Literally.

Not even two days later, Sero's letter from UA arrived. Izuku wasn't in any shape to leave his room, so he found out Sero's fate via a phone call.
He got in. Admitted into the hero course, class 1-A no less.
Izuku had never been so insanely proud and disappointed in his entire life.
Of course he was proud and completely thrilled Sero made it in. He'd worked his ass off all summer to make it through those exams and that hard work finally paid off. He was moving closer to his dream of becoming a hero.
He couldn't help the disappointment though. Sero being accepted meant that Izuku had no choice but to move forward with his father's plan. He had to use Sero for information, betraying every piece of his trust. Izuku couldn't help but think it was more painful than any lesson his father could teach him.
The start of the school year was pushing closer and closer, causing Izuku to grow more anxious as the days went on. He knew that whatever he was forced to do this year, it was going to completely demolish his relationship with Sero. The more he thought about it, the more it felt like his life would end the second the other boy decided to walk away. He'd become so attached to Sero, so used to his constant presences. Izuku wasn't sure if he couldn't go back to how it was before. At least not while keeping his sanity.
He decided he was going to make the most out of whatever time he had left with Sero. Which was why the two of them were up on their roof, star gazing, the night before Sero's first day. Izuku had texted him to meet up, no other explanation, and he'd been slightly worried something happened. The worry didn't go away as Izuku said nothing and just collapsed into his arms immediately upon arrival.
"What's wrong, lightning bug?" Sero had asked him softly, after they had moved to sitting on the cool roof.
Izuku hummed and absently grabbed one of Sero's hands. "You start school tomorrow, just gonna miss you is all."
Of course Sero knew this wasn't everything, but he could tell Izuku didn't want to talk about it. He dropped it and moved onto a different subject. "What about you? Are you going to school this fall?" Izuku had never mentioned when his own classes would start up and Sero had started thinking that maybe he wasn't even going back. He wouldn't put it past Izuku's father to pull him out entirely.
"Online. I get to start whenever, probably will tomorrow. It's just something to do really," Izuku mumbled, looking up at the stars, focusing on the bright, pure light they gave off.
Sero smiled fondly down at him, poking his cheek to grab his attention again. "Gonna miss me that much, Iz? Gotta keep yourself distracted while I'm gone?"
It was just a tease, Izuku knew that, but it wasn't completely wrong. He shrugged, lifting his hand to lightly caress the other boy's face. "Basically. I have nothing else to do with my days. Besides training, but that just isn't as fun without tape boy around to complain every two seconds."
Sero groaned at the nickname he couldn't seem to escape. "I give you the cutest nickname ever and you stick with tape boy? That's so unfair." He was pouting and Izuku laughed when realization dawned on him and he gasped in offense. "I do not complain every two seconds!"
They were both thrown into a small laughing fit that eventually died down and led to a comfortable silence. Sero mindlessly combed his fingers through Izuku's curls, both boys with their eyes trained on the sky.
"Everything's going to change tomorrow. You realize that, right?" Izuku said in barely a whisper.
Sero didn't look down as he nodded. "I'll be a hero-in-training dating a super villain's son, how cliche," he said with a quiet snort of laughter. He looked down when he felt Izuku go rigid in his lap.
"Dating?" Izuku squeaked.
The taller boy couldn't keep his laughter in at the question. "Iz, we make out. Frequently. We do this, which is basically a date. Have we not been dating for a few weeks now?"
Izuku pushed himself from Sero's lap, sitting up and looking directly at the other. "Hanta, you were literally my first... well everything. I have no clue what we're doing or if it constitutes dating."
"Shit, I didn't think about that," he mumbled. "So you just... did you think this is what all friends do?" Sero tried, he really did, to keep the humor from his voice, but he didn't do a very good job.
Izuku groaned and pushed his shoulder a little harshly, causing him to laugh. "Shut up. I knew we weren't just friends, okay? I just didn't- I didn't know we were- like, an actually couple, or whatever."
Sero tried to keep his chuckles at bay while cooing, "Oh my god, you poor little thing." Izuku batted away the hand that reached to pinch his cheek.
"Izuku Midoriya," the green haired boy's eyes snapped to meet Sero's due to the use of his first and last name (he told Sero that a few days ago, he knows everything else, why not?). "Will you be my boyfriend?"
Izuku smiled sweetly at him. "Of course I will," he placed a kiss on Sero's nose. "Tape boy."
He laughed hysterically while Sero groaned and pushed his face away.
god there's been so much fluff in this fic.
