KATARINA’S POV
“I’ve never been so humiliated in my life guys” I said with my head in my hands
“That doesn’t matter Kat, he had no right to film you!” Sonya said through her teeth while rubbing my back in a comforting way.
“That son of a bitch” Ashton added.
Ashton and Sonya were sitting on my bed listening to my pathetic story.
“I’m so sick of crying when I’m around him. It’s draining”
“You need to stay away from him Kat”
“I know Ashton,” I said with a defeated sigh
“Well are you going to tell your professor about how you didn’t consent to him using footage of you sleeping?” Sonya asked
“No”
“Why not?” Ashton asked
“You guys should have seen his piece. It was spectacular and he really needs this to pass the subject”
“You need to stop making excuses for him Kat” Sonya said sternly
“I’m not. I just understand where he’s coming from that’s all” I replied with a little edge in my voice.
“Well it’s your choice at the end of the day and we support you either way” Sonya said smiling.
“Thank you” I responded, leaning in to give her a hug. “Both of you” I added looking at Ashton.
“Hey so I called Uncle Jim Kat” Ashton said cheerily
“Uncle Jim?” I asked, confused
“You know, about getting you a job?” Sonya prompted
“Oh yeah! How’d it go?” I asked
“He said that he could use an extra worker down at the petrol station, you start tomorrow at 8 a.m. sharp. I just texted you the address of the place”
“You are seriously the best Ashton! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!” I squealed.
“Don’t thank me yet, you haven’t met my cousin” he said nervously
“Don’t worry, I think I can handle her” I reassured him
“Anyway, enough of this! Get dressed, we have party to get to” Sonya announced clapping her hands together
“What party are you guys going to this week?” I asked
“You mean what party are we all going to this week?” she corrected
“Oh no, not me. You guys go ahead I think I’m just going to stay in and watch movies”
“Oh hell no girlfriend, we are not leaving you all by yourself tonight! You have to come, it’s going to be a tonne of fun” Sonya said excitedly.
“I don’t know, the last party we went to ended horribly” I said uneasily
“We won’t let anything happen to you, alright?” Ashton said reassuring
I paused for a moment contemplating whether or not I should go.
“I’m going to take your silence as a yes” Sonya said, pulling me off the bed and marching me to my closet
“You’re not going to find anything in there, I literally have no clothes appropriate for a party”
“Let me try my luck, go sit back down”
