Katarina’s POV

I walked out of Uni feeling happier than I did when I walked in. I had taken me almost an hour to get home because I decided buy groceries. I ran myself a hot bath and relaxed for almost two hours, I would have stayed in the bath longer if not for the fact that my fingers and toes were starting to look like prunes. Luke wanted to take the extension meaning that we would both have to produce individual pieces by this Friday. Working on such a short time frame made me stressed all over again. I didn’t really want to take Professor Young’s offer but Luke wanted it and I honestly did not have the time or energy to argue with him again. I sat at my desk and opened up the email that Professor Young had sent outlining the guidelines of the new task:

To: <All Students: Art – Filmography >

From: C.Young

Subject: Second Task

Here are the requirements for the second task if you choose to accept it:

1.     Video must be two minutes long – five second lenience both ways

2.     Video must be your own work – no collaborations!

3.     The theme of your video must be outlined in a short write-up (no longer than 300 words please!)

4.     Due date: THIS FRIDAY (I will not, under any circumstances, accept late entries)

5.     Have fun.

These short films will be screened during our lesson on Friday so have the videos ready to go!

-Professor Young

I finished reading the email just as my phone started to ring.

“Hello?” I answered without even checking who called.

“Hey”

“Luke, what’s up?” I asked, suddenly interested.

“I just read Young’s email and I have to be honest with you, I am shitting myself”

I giggled at his choice of words.

“Don’t laugh at me! I am legitimately worried now!” he replied, laughing himself

“So am I! I have no idea what my piece is going to be about Luke!”

“Do you want to meet up and we can help each other come up with something?” he asked. His tone had changed from playful to…hopeful?

“Read guideline number two Luke, ‘video must be your own work, no collaborations” I recited

“I know but what Professor Young doesn’t know won’t kill him, so what do you say?” he asked

“Okay” I replied rather reluctantly.

“Great! I’ll pick you up in an hour?” he asked

“Sure, but where are we going?”

“There a little ice-creamery twenty minutes away, we could go there?”

“That sounds nice Luke” I responded honestly

“Okay see you soon Katarina” he replied before ending the call.

So much for keeping things strictly professional.
