Katarina’s POV
I woke up this morning at 11:43 a.m. So much for being an early riser.
Last night was intense. By the end of the night I was physically and mentally drained. I made a mental note to avoid Luke and Amber, whatever the cost.
I rolled over onto my side and stared at my phone, which was on the bedside table. Lazily I picked it up and looked at the screen.
Four missed calls from Sonya. Two missed calls from Ashton. One voicemail.
I sat up immediately.
I listened to the voicemail first.
“Hey Kat! It’s free burrito day and Manic Mexicano! Do you want to join Ashton and me? We need all the hands we can get!”
I smiled. Sonya was one weird girl.
I called Sonya and she answered on the fourth ring.
“Kaaaaaat!” she squealed
“Hey Sonya!” I replied, trying to mimic her high pitch but failing miserably.
“Ashton is on his way to pick you up, I’m waiting in the huge ass line,” she shouted.
“You’d do anything for food Sonya,” I laughed
“Woman, it’s a free!” she replied
“Alright, alright! I’ll see you soon” I said, ending the call.
I jumped out of bed and went straight to the shower.

After getting dressed in my jeans, converse and shirt that read, “I hate boys”, I headed downstairs. Ashton texted and said he would be here in two minutes so I waited out the front for him.
True to his word, Ashton arrived in exactly two minutes.
I walked to his car and hopped in.
“Hey Kat” he smiled widely
“Hey” I reciprocated
“Ready to go?” he asked
“Lead me to the free burritos Ash” I laughed
“Off we go then” he laughed, before reversing out of my driveway.
“Ashton?”
“Mmm?” he responded, not tearing his eyes away from the road.
“I just wanted to say thanks again for last night”
“Don’t mention it” he replied, smiling.
I looked outside the window and gasped.
“Is this the line for the free burritos?” I asked Ashton in awe.
“Uh huh! Crazy to think that people are lining up from streets away”
“No kidding” I replied
“Thankfully Sonya is near the front” he said
Ashton parked his car a street away from Manic Mexicano.
We walked towards the front of the line and received many glares in the process.
“Sonya!” Ashton called out
Sonya turned around and flashed us a wide grin.
“Kat!!” Sonya squealed, even louder than she had on the phone.
“Hey Sonya” I replied giving her a tight hug “Thanks for inviting me”
“No worries! How are you?” she said excitedly
